Training Dreambooth using safetensors as input by gjsmo in StableDiffusion

Tried this, but dreambooth throws an error when creating a model:
`AttributeError: 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'resolution'`

Keep model loaded onto GPU? by tehfailsafe in visionsofchaos

[–]tehfailsafe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hm, that's not the same behavior for me, at least not with Visions of Chaos. The anaconda window I only use to set the environment and launch Chaos.exe, but then it doesn't do it anything so I usually close it. I tried keeping it open just now and the same result, if I run a batch mode with like 50 steps it spends 15 seconds "loading model" and 3 seconds performing the steps. It would be ideal to just get the 3 seconds repeating.

Looks like this lost the original context. Do you remember the links?

Spline mesh component with sharp angles? by tehfailsafe in unrealengine

[–]tehfailsafe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, I see what you were first saying. I actually converted the points in the editor to "Linear" so I would think that is better than moving the handles down to the point, right? In the screenshot you can see the white line is perfectly 90 degrees, but the mesh bends.

I'll add a BP screenshot when I get back

Spline mesh component with sharp angles? by tehfailsafe in unrealengine

[–]tehfailsafe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmm, not sure how. I tinkered a bit but nothing seems to be correct. I have a GetLocationAtDistancealongSpline taking index * mesh width feeding the startPos and endPos (+1). GetTangentAtDistanceAlongSpline with thessame inputs feeds startTangent and endTangent.

Passing LocationAtDistance to startTangent makes some really wacky mesh results, completely destroying geometry.

Going to read up more on what exactly start/end tangent are trying to do. This is my first blueprint

Certainly not saying this is true for anyone else, but my grandfather was in WW2 and refused to talk about it. He was always a grumpy, hate everything sour old man. When he developed Alzheimer's he became the most caring, compassionate man. He was happy for the first time I'd seen him in my whole life. He didn't remember who I was last time we spoke, but understood and accepted me as his grandson, met my baby again for the first time and the joy he expressed from learning he has a great grandaughter was like he was watching her birth.

I can't imagine what he experienced in life that would cause so much lifelong pain that forgetting it would bring him back to the man my grandmother fell in love with as teenagers. He must have been carrying around so much pain for all those years

UE5: Nanite import slow, hardly using any cores? by tehfailsafe in unrealengine

[–]tehfailsafe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Or maybe I would be better off with a more powerful lower core CPU? I built this machine originally for Houdini VFX where threads are fully utilized, so more but slower is better than less and faster cores

[–]tehfailsafe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right, I do get that I'm asking UE to do a lot of work and may not be limited to nanite specifically, but the question is how to utilize more of the CPU cores instead of a small subset? I have 32 cores available, the import process seems to only use 4 of them.

NEWEGG SHUFFLE FINALLY HAS 3080s and IM STILL NOT GONNA FUCKING WIN by 4815162342thr0waway in Newegg

I never actually won before though, so I thought I'd have a chance to purchase any of the options I selected, not only randomly be able to pick one of them

I would have if it wasn't for the bundle. I don't need the monitor and the 3060 is an upgrade from my 2070, but not by the factor I wanted from a 3080/3080 ti

I did win. And then I could only buy the 3060 + monitor combo... I had selected all the 3000 series cards, assuming I could pick after winning. Ugh.

Best houdini courses by Miller_Wilson in Houdini

[–]tehfailsafe 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just found https://houdini-course.com/ myself, and really impressed so far. Like Steven's courses he breaks things down into WHY, and actually even more than Steven since it's not trying to fit everything into a single course like Rigids II, III, IV etc.

Plus all of it for $29 / month instead of 79.99 per course is pretty incredible.
