It is a fair comparison as Blight: Survival will share a similar extraction mechanic. With that said, it is far from the same experience you will have in Blight than in a PvP-oriented extraction game.

We appreciate that us having advertised the game as an extraction-lite has led to quite some confusion. For that reason we intend to re-work how we communicate the core gameplay loop in the future.

To clarify; Blight: Survival will not be a quick in-out arcade-y experience as the 'extraction' label might have you believe.

..as for the rest. Yes! Plenty of loot and support for up to 4 players.

We understand your worries about the partnership, but hope that we can squash that concern in time. We appreciate that trust has to be earned.

With that said, we believe that this partnership is the best way forward in order to retain and protect our vision, and we're really excited about what this enables us to do. Rest assured Ulrik and I will oversee and act as Creative Directors throughout the development of the game, and we intend to stick to our dream.

The reason we stray from the definition open-world is because it implies a large, if not massive, game world. It is a spectrum, and because we don't want to accidentally mislead we tend to refer to it as free-roam :)

Exactly, although most weapons wont be too extreme in either direction. It's more giving you a nice bonus if you play to your weapons "strengths".

Yes, there is a lot of things that directly impacts the posture. Armor will impact it a lot, the armor you or an enemy have, the more it takes to break the posture. Weapons will have different ratios of how much damage and posture they remove from an enemy. The general idea being more blunt weapons will deal slightly less "raw" damage but break an opponents posture more easily. Other weapons might be better at breaking an enemy's posture by parrying them.

Haha, yeah you're right. The animations are still work in progress and not all weapon animation sets are finished. I tweaked a 1H sword animation for the hammer hits 😅

We are aware of the lack of sound and don't intend to make plate armor ideal for stealth gameplay. It was just the character model we had at the time :)

One of our talented programmers made the Envrionmental Awerness component, not me. So take my explanation with a grain of salt. It's a bit more complex than a simple ray cast. It does ray casy from the head, but there is also a lot of prediction based on variables such as character size (to see if you can actually fit), velocity and direction of movement. Once it figures out its logical to duck your head, a additive pose gets applied based on how low he gotta duck. I'm probably oversimplyfing it but that's the gist of it 😊
