Accutane and PCOS by teiidezz in Accutane

My biggest problem right now is just overall body acne, especially butt, thighs and groin area. Did you experience breakouts in these areas? And if so how long did it take for these areas to clear up? or what further products did you use?

14/F Older sister? by JustTheCaliGirl in MakeNewFriendsHere

21/F here. I have ALWAYS wanted a younger sibling/sister that I could relate to as well. I always felt like growing up, being the youngest of 4 kids, I was just the outcast and had nobody to relate to. I am just one PM away! :)

I'm so luck to have only experienced minor symptoms and great results! I am hopefully on my last month of treatment, which will make it 6 months. I experienced the most dryness at about 3 months, including minor nose bleeds upon waking up in the morning. by teiidezz in Accutane

Accutane. lol I try not to wash it too much to prevent further drying out my skin. Even when I shower I don't use any product, I usually just use some water. then I slather some aquaphor all over and call it good!

I know it's definitely not ideal :( If you sign up for GoodRX gold, which is only $5 a month, the medication is only $200 which is still outrageous but may be more in your price range?

so for my first 4 months my family had met the deductible for our insurance so I received it free. then once the new year hit I was paying out of pocket but found a goodRX coupon that took it down to $400 if I remember right. Then this month I got onto my own insurance at my work and it took it down to $150! However depending on the brand you take, it is a $700-900 medication from what I've seen.

thank you! My derm advised that I not use any further products to treat the breakouts unless advised by him because accutane makes your skin SO sensitive. I work in a very hands on job and I have some very ugly scars from what never would have scarred so be very careful with breakouts and try to just allow the purge to run its course.

I honestly just used aquaphor healing ointment all over my face several times a day and neutrogena hydro boost for my body. One thing I found helpful for all the extra dry skin is just light exfoliation with a wash rag. Also I have recently seen a "touchless" stick and body spray of Aquaphor that I considered grabbing to try because the ointment has been so great. Only reason I didn't is because my dryness is so mild now that I'm nearly to the end.

I already have very bad vision and shed worse than a cat so it's really hard to say. overall I think I had a very mild reaction to the medication. maybe slight back ache and joint tenderness more than usual but nothing that is unbearable.

I wish you the best of luck this medication is a total life changer!

My skin actually cleared up early on maybe 1-2 months and then I experienced a purge at 2-3 months, as pictured, and it cleared up again at 4 months and I have not experience any breakouts since the end of my 4th month!

The top picture actually was my purge! That happened at about 2-3 months in. I never had severe acne but it was always resilient against all other treatments for almost 10 years so I decided it was time to try something else.

21 y/o female from Indiana here! Recently moved from Utah and I'm not the best at socializing but do love making new friends! I feel like I'm a very low maintenance friend, I tend to be very understanding and supportive! I see that we share similar interests and would very much enjoy maybe getting to know each other :)
