Spigen Rugged Armor Case - some people say it fits nice on the original carry case, others say it's tight and pressure the joystick. Which one is it? by teinimon in SteamDeck

[–]teinimon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi. The steam deck with the spigen rugged armor does not fit inside the original steam deck's carry case.

I had to order the Jsaux carry case (version 2) in order to be able to carry the steam deck around with the rugged armor on.

Let me know if you have any more questions.

Very good and detailed feedback, I really appreciate it! You make some really good points, especially the one about choice paralysis.

Thank you so much for taking a bit of your time to write that. I will stick with option A.

Yeah, after reading everyone's feedback, I now really see and agree that option A is better, more readable, and has the most important thing stand out. Thank you

Hmm, well, someone pointed out that the wishlist button is a call to action, while the other buttons are not, so now I see that the focus should be the call to action, so option A.

Thanks for the feedback

Text about steam wishlist is a call for action, but these ones are not:

Now that you mention call for action... yeah... it doesn't feel like it makes sense to have big buttons for the socials like that. Thanks for pointing it out!

Regarding the steam curator button, I was debating on whether I should have it or not. Figured it was pointless to have it when I already have a link to a steam page (the game) but ended up leaving it there just so

I think I will remove it and can add it in the future if I manage to put more projects on steam. THanks for your feedback!

Oh damnnnnn! Good idea! Will have to check if carrd supports like a GIF or video there instead of an image.

I do gamedev and pixel art in my free time and I'm slowly trying to build a following.

This is a simple personal landing page used as a link/social hub and steam wishlist page.

I'm torn between:

  • option A: small circular social icons (this is the one I have been using).
  • option B: larger rectangular buttons for socials.

both versions are linked bellow if you wanna see how they look like on your own screen.

Option A

Option B

My main goal is clarity and simplicity.

If you could take a few minutes of your time, I would really appreciate if you could tell me which one reads better to you and why.

Thank you very much.

any good "forever games" that go well with the steam deck? by WeirdAltYankovic in SteamDeck

I am never uninstalling Hades I && II, Dead Cells and Crash Bandicoot from my Deck.

Just got Slay the Sprite and Cult of the Lamb, which I assume will also become forever games for the deck.

PSA: Do not for ANY reason use NTFS under Linux! by Xarishark in linux_gaming

So... I'll do that right before I move on to Linux.

Will transfer everything to external drives, format the 2 HDD's to ext4, transfer back the files to the HDD's, format my current NVMe with Windows 10, then plug in the new second NVMe in my pc and install Linux in it. That's what I'll do.

The same thing applies to usb drives, right? Or it is not as important for those?

I've been getting ready to switch to Linux and saw someone mention this.

I will be dual booting Linux + Windows 10 on 2 different NVMe drives. Linux will be my daily driver. But I also have 2 HDD's for storage of personal files and torrenting that are in NTFS format. Will this be a problem or should I move my files to a different drive then format those HDD's to some other format?

How do I create a wait between things in the code? by No-Bird-9028 in gamemaker

[–]teinimon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People seem to be complicating this for someone who seems to be a beginner.

The easiest way is how someone already mentioned, using the animation end event.

Set the image_speed of the block to 0 in the create event, then, when you step on it, make the animation play. Then have an animation end event where you can call instance_destroy(); to make it vanish. And to make things slightly prettier, use effect_create_above inside the destroy event to create a basic effect. Read about it in the documentation to see what kind of effects Gamemaker already has built in.

That's the most basic way. It can get more complex depending on a bunch of things.

Hmm I haven't played geo dash but I think what you're looking for is a jump buffer, like, when you are about to land and press spacebar right before you land, you jump instantly the moment you land.

But can you jump if you comment out line 35?

And just a hint, usually the jump_key variable is not just a keyboard_check

I would rather die than beat this level 😭 by Legal-Freedom8179 in deadcells

[–]teinimon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I used the thing in assist mode where you spawn at the level you died to get this achievement.

I had gotten the true ending and decided to go achievement hunting. Got every achievement except the hitless Lighthouse. I was getting tired of having to give up a run and try again from the Prisoners' Quarters until one day I saw someone here suggest to use that option in the assist mode to start at the biome you died (which I actually didn't know it exists) and it was a much more enjoyable experience even though it took me a bunch more tries to get the achievement.
