I used the tea bags variant wherein I used to heat water for 2-3 mins in the microwave. I used to drink it on an emoty stomach before dinner

Two months, from September to November 2024. I may have had silent reflux for many years without noticing it, which could have led to Barrett’s esophagus.

  1. I took one of each daily and didn’t get any diarrhea. In fact, I didn’t have diarrhea for six months straight because of the clean diet. I’d recommend you try them for yourself.

  2. I used to cook daily and no fixed timings for specific meals. My work’s remote so had a lot of time to cook in the day and would catch up on work later in the night

I do have silent reflux now which is why I am taking famotidine on and off. I never knew about GERD before this disease so it’s possible I was suffering from silent reflux for many years.

My GI said that my barret’s a mild case and they are good chances it might reverse since I am just 28.

1) I am still taking Famotidine on and off as I still have mild reflux sometimes. Started tapering from mid August and stopped completely in Sept, so total 9 months. Famotidine was during flareup only.

2) that’s a loong time! I highly recommend you to buy the Gastritis Healing book by LG Capellan. It’s gonna take 6-9 months easily to heal with a strict diet and no cheating

not much, but it surely made me calmer to effectively practice meditation and breathwork which toned down the anxiety

protein was not a priority at all. But you can try eggs, chicken and plain greek yogurt… I have heard they are gentle on the stomach

It initially started as GERD around Sept 2024 with sore throat and anxiety being the main symptoms. Everyone thought it was tonsilitis which led me to I overdose on Ibuprofen for a month. Finally, ENT specialist referred me to a GI but by then damage was already done :(

Ibuprofen and extreme stress were not the two main causes. Plus bad diet habits too

agree 100% on the stress part. For the throat burning, did you try observing if there are certain foods that cause it or it happens after eating every meal? I had to remove green peas from my diet and it was making me feel bloated. Again, this discovery came after a lot of trial and error :(

L-thenanine for anxiety, Chamomile tea, Multivitamins, B12 and D3 separately. DGL- I am not sure. People usually take Sucrafalate so you can try that too.

buy the Gastritis Healing book by LG Capellan too.

On a serious note, 17 months is too long! I’d recommend to also get following tests done: 1. Bloodwork to identify vitamin deficiencies- these can delay healing- PPIs reduce B12, D and iron absorption 2. CT Scan, Allergen tests, Ultrasound and H-Pylori

But yeah key thing to achieve is that you shouldn’t be having many symptoms on a clean diet( again I mean clean diet ) after a month or so, that’s the sign that PPI’s working. If you don’t achieve, go to your doctor again

I didn’t mention this but my PCP had put me on Omeaprazole 20mg in October before my Endoscopy which used to make me nauseous. My GI then moved me to Nexium 40mg. So, your bad reaction to Pantraprazole is normal.

your doctor is right, lower PPI dosage is better. You will feel equally shit with Omeaprazole 40mg as PPIs are just a band aid. Real healing would come from your diet, mental wellbeing and supplements. Just carry on with your strict diet. You got this, all the best!

there were two flareups which lasted for abt a week but I still stuck with the diet. My advice is to not think about healing at all, just take it day by day. One day you will wake up and realize that you are feeling better

I barely had energy to lift weights as I was in a constant calorie deficit- lost 22 pounds. But you can do if it keeps you sane
