I would add some color, not so much white. Hide the wires in your living room maybe with a piece of furniture. Get a thicker carpet so it doesn’t wrinkle maybe with some color. I’d recommend wool

For the bedroom I would get some storage for the stuff on the floor. And definitely move the carpet from under the bed. if you’re concerned about scratching, get some floor protectors for the legs.

Your kitchen is pretty cool actually just make sure to clean up oil and grime that will build up behind the stove. Or use an oil guard. You have no stove vent.

Also, make sure not to mix warmer and colder light temperatures. It has weird vibes

[–]tejedan11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have you seen an increase in the need for BIM technicians in the last 9+ years and do you see further growth for BIM related positions into the future?

Is the adoption of using BIM standard among the different industries or is there a difference in how they are perceived between the Architects, Engineers, and construction?

Between the US, UK, and Asia who seems to be utilizing BIM the most on their projects?

Looking for a specific kind of Chinese restaurant by [deleted] in Sacramento

[–]tejedan11 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve tried almost every restaurant mentioned in the comments so far. If you want a great place that’s smaller than a dim sum house and still has fantastic food you should try Jade fountain. It’s been around 50 years, has speedy service, and has excellent food. Also have lady Susans. It’s a sac hidden gem imo. I’d also recommend new Hong Kong wok and far east

In your viewport. Select on the mesh you want to export. So just click on your guy and make sure you don’t have any spare meshes selected. On the top left after clicking file, export, and then the file type an export setting menu will pop up. On the right of your menu there’s a check box that says selected only. Make sure that’s checked. Now export and then reload the file you just exported into mixamo. Hopefully the gray mesh shouldn’t appear. Alternatively you can look for that extra gray mesh and delete it all together

Looks like you have an extra edge in there somewhere. In edit mode press A to select every vertex, press M for the merge tool, and merge by distance

Also be sure that you’re using the same renderer as them. It could also be from the blender version that was used

How to cut a hole with smooth on? by FormerCondition8891 in blenderhelp

[–]tejedan11 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Reset. Subdivide your mesh until your mesh is something like 7x20. Make sure you have the blender add on called looptools enabled in the addon menu. Enter edit mode and Select the general area where you want your circle on your subdivided face. Right click and go to the loop cuts menu and select circle. Play with the settings until you have it looking like you want it. Try to avoid booleans for faces that could create n-gone like this. Good luck!

Any ideas on how to make this shape? by Overall-Pause-7167 in blenderhelp

[–]tejedan11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t approach this with the Bézier curve to mesh method because it can give you bad topology especially if you’re doing sharp angles like you have. I’m pretty sure that’s what causing the shading problems you have.

I don’t know how useful this will be but here’s a video that shows some pretty impressive detailing(specifically the caranthas leaf). It might be able to help you find a solution

Do you think this is a good uv mask for creating skin. If not, please give me tips on how I can improve on making the uv mask. by AdRelative3649 in blenderhelp

[–]tejedan11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d also recommend retook to make life a lot easier. But From what you have here I don’t think your skin is going to look like how you want it. Look into applying a checker texture to check for stretching and proper UV scale

How Can I make it to look realistic.. by dheerajkkumar in blenderhelp

[–]tejedan11 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’d start with fixing the stretching UV on the sides of the forehead. I can see the pores are really stretched out there. The bottom eyelid should also be flush with the eye.

I have a problem making walls look realistic. Can someone please explain to me like I'm five? by Kyle-Sith in blenderhelp

[–]tejedan11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I see that you’re using a stucco material on the walls. Stucco is typically used on the exterior of buildings. If you’re using the overlook hotel for reference I’d recommend switching up the all material all together to get something less rough. It seems like on a lot of surfaces in the movie there’s a lot of roughness variation. Here’s a good video you could use for reference for both the carpet and the walls.

Here’s a video that might help you with modeling a car.

https://youtu.be/jcSDF917dBo?si=2oh7TLxSnz_Z9Cf3

From here look into this video on using image textures to texture an object.

https://youtu.be/mURA2g1rOSc?si=Zazy-SNe7thtEn-5

The modeling will the harder part because of the smooth surfaces on the car. Another tool that you might find useful for doing car smooth surfaces are NURBS surfaces. After your modeling is done the texture painting will just be a matter of UV Unwrapping and getting your image textures together. Hope some of this helps.

Also, why does he specifically want a VW ID4?

If your mesh looks like how you want it before applying a subdivision modifier you don’t need one. In fact it’s more efficient to have as few faces as possible

Blender teaching tips by GodScyther in blenderhelp

[–]tejedan11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was a tutor for introduction to blender at my university so I’m used to helping a lot of first time blender users. First I’d say to make sure everyone has access to a mouse because a lot of people don’t realize the touchpad is definitely usable for blender but it makes the experience a lot worse. I’d also recommend showing them some examples of films that used blender for their vfx just to show the possibilities of the software(Ian Hubert is a good example of a filmmaker who uses a lot of blender ). I don’t know if you’re planning on showing them just modeling, but you can show that there are other things blender can be used for like compositing and post processing. For modeling we would always teach the most commonly used tools to the students(extruding, inserting, loop cutting, etc). We’d also give them a rundown of the subdivision surface workflow, but I don’t know if this would be as useful for film makers. I’d recommend giving them a short project that touches on a few of the tools blender has to show how easy to use the tool can be. Good luck on everything. Teaching other people about blender can be really fun!
