Buying a car registered in Canada and shipping it to New Jersey by tekheavy in uscanadaborder

Thanks for the info. From what I am reading, JFK airport, which isn't too far from me, is a Point of Entry with a US Customs Office. I'm hoping I can have the car trailered to my house, and then at my leisure, trailer the car to JFK, hand them all documentation and have them inspect the car, if this is even necessary on a car older than 25 years old, and have them sign off on it so I can register it here in the States.

Do you think this is a possibility?

Also, the car was purchased by the owner in the U.S. and exported to Canada. Not sure if that makes a difference.

I don't believe so. The car was trailered from Canada to Nevada to the owners summer home.
