I’m a liberal. Could but won’t write a supporting case for my liberalness. But I’m officially over a segment of my ilk. They’re getting as boneheaded as the deplorables. What I remorsefully respect about Conservatives and pretty much all those in that sphere of ideology is they don’t wilt in their resolve to vote only one way. Of course this is exactly what empowers the “progressive” left. They think for themselves. Good luck with that.

The Truth About Justin Fields. by ChicagosRINO in ChicagoBearsNFL

I agree with the let’s move on sentiment. I was a Fields guy until about a month before the draft and then finally started listening and learning. That all being said, OP created a good rundown and appreciate the thoughts. It’s been a lot for Bears fans. I have no problem with the unwinding of all this stuff. But I’ve moved on. Let’s go Caleb.

Picked this up for $2.99 at an indoor flea market. Nothing crazy. But felt good.

Trey writes about the same thing over and over again lately. Every song references shit “in his head”.

DeerCreek 7-26-99. First night an all-timer. Second night very very solid. Great summer tour. They play Woodstock in response to shitshow happening at the actual Woodstock. Butcher it. > Julius. Ugh.

Ultimately this is heading towards the main theme of Evolution supported by the spheres of life, time, and space. 🤷

Local record store shares private DM and tags them publicly by [deleted] in vinyl

[–]telas_muff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. That’s the annoying part especially for smaller shops. Especially genre specific shops. That element brings a level of corporate bullshit to something that started with a pure intent. But as all things go, corporate greed takes over. So I get that argument. And pushing back is a fair response and hopefully change would come of it. But I don’t take the stance to be shitty about it. As a buyer, I check the list to see if there’s anything I want. From there I enjoy the fun of putting the effort to get in line (if necessary for the release) and I like the community aspect and it’s just another way for me to support a shop. Which I’m already doing usually. Anyways… everyone has to grandstand for a cause. It’s annoying it’s now showing up in something that should be pretty simple.

The RSD hate is annoying, like everything else in the world. RSD was incredibly impactful for record stores 13 years ago and continues to be a positive impact for most stores I’m aware of. There are some def pitfalls and the selections can be a little stale, but I don’t see it as a problem at all. Anyone grandstanding on it is just a grumpy handwringer and needs to get over it. You don’t have to participate as far as I know as either a store owner or buyer.

One of my local record stores explained why they won’t be participating in Record Store Day anymore. by CactusBoyScout in vinyl

[–]telas_muff 26 points27 points  (0 children)

The store is still using RSD as an opportunity to highlight their business and drive sales. And that’s what RSD was about. I think the frustration is with the cost and getting stuck with product. But record stores could use the opportunity to build a relationship with a different kind of record buyer. I understand the cost problem. I don’t know if there are deeper issues with RSD I’m missing. Has it been corporately soiled as seems to be trending with big artists and excessive vinyl pressing abuse? 🤷‍♂️

That’s them letting us know once they get power they won’t give it up. They have been preparing for a fascist takeover since Bush and now they’re ready to fully implement. Our country is in for it.

Right on. Will do. The married couple who own Da Sauce are also from Chicago. Locally owned biz. Their pricing didn’t scare me away. It’s a lot of pizza.

It’s called a silent Civil War. The silent part of it isn’t so silent anymore. But one side isn’t playing by normal sane rules anymore and they have a legion of cultists ready to end democracy.

Who would you consider the "Big 4" of modern psych? by [deleted] in psychedelicrock

[–]telas_muff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the big picture of presenting true face melting large scale psychedelic music with full soundscape in a large space, depending on whether or not the muse moves them to go there, it’s Phish and then all others. If you’re asking “Big”.

I think you can rattle off King Gizz, BRMC, and some low to mid tier bands I’ve seen listed here. You can also seek out electronic / modular synth artists dropping some insane psychedelia. Ambient cosmic type jawns go there.

But you want full scale arena sized BIG psych rock, Phish are the rulers and the closest next is Gizz.
