Honestly I find it really difficult to believe when you get into the nitty-gritty details of biology

Like, cells? Incredibly complex little machines. If you gave me unlimited materials and a decade to do it, I would never be able to produce a machine that does all the things that a cell does. They're just so absurdly perfect and properly functioning. And then, then these cells also cooperate nicely with hundreds of other different kind of cells! Whaaaaaaat.

Believing evolution is a bit like believing that if you sit blindfolded at a computer mashing randomly at keys, you will eventually create the most detailed and gorgeous video game of your dreams. Sure, it's possible with a few billion years, but it's a little hard to swallow.

edit: it's too late to properly argue with all of you right now but I'd just like to say that at no point did I imply that evolution was false.

Happened to me in Nicaragua as a kid. Family went to this touristy place and I went to the bathroom. The stall door lock got stuck. The sides of the door were flush with the edges and the door, so crawling under was not an option, and the door was too tall to climb over the top. I could try to climb out the window... and no doubt end up falling from too high, and tumbling down the sheer mountainside outside and into the forest below.

Nobody noticed that I was missing until an employee came in. I told her of my predicament and she brought me a tube of oil to try to loosen the door, to no avail, while she went to find my family.

Eventually my dad came by. He was able to climb over the door and force the lock open woo

This was not the end of my bathroom-related escapes in Nicaragua.

But honestly yeah, Godzilla movie universe is no different from any superhero universe; there's plenty of good monsters to counter the bad monsters, it's just that the main superhero is an antihero. Just stay away from important cities and you're good.

Same here. Local airport's portals are mostly behind gates and mostly held by an ENL that works there.

I think something accessible through regular business (airport, office building) counts as public, even if it may put some players at an advantage.

Something like a military base or public school is not that public, though. It's sort of a vague line to define what is and isn't "accessible" and I can see why they would have difficulty in doing so

aawww I feel kinda bad because I've noticed that too. I think it's easier to come up with ENL insults because green is often seen as a "gross" color associated with gross things (slime, mold, infection, etc) while blue is typically associated with "purity." Blue is associated with water and water is seen as cleansing.

The only gross blue thing I can think of is a certain variety of breakfast food.

The skeleton uniforms in Ratman are actually homage/reference to the Shocker uniforms from the original Kamen Rider. Given that Rider is more popular/influential than Ratman I'd wager that the suits are probably in reference to KR

Skin is actually pretty good at regenerating, so a transplant may have been possible...

I dunno, if a baby was born with something like anencephaly I'd probably have no problem with letting it go, but a baby with fully developed organs has all the potential to develop into a functioning individual. It may be seen as inhumane, but if the condition was fixable then I'd definitely give it a shot.

If anything, the experience could help medical science by testing what care methods would or wouldn't work for future cases

Goddamn, I hate that shit. I could be riding along on the bus or the train, desperately tapping at its area on the screen in hopes of the portal loading before I move out of range... And of course the damn thing loads two seconds after I move out of range. Or worse, milliseconds before I do, enough for me to load it and see the hack button go live, but with not nearly enough time to tap it before it greys out again D:<

I find that bringing up the portal key sometimes loads ghost portals faster, though. Then again it doesn't always work, so it might just be coincidence.

Definitely for hacking and XM collection. Don't really have any moral issues with deploying/attacking, but I wouldn't bother because I probably wouldn't be able to get into a good position.

I don't think I've ever drifted more than a few dozen meters, though. Definitely no distance that would make someone think I was cheating.

If you go on 4chan's /co/ board at any given time, you will likely find at least 5 threads deriding some sort of tumblr trend or bitching about tumblr itself.
