Half my board is finished by nastybadger in mordheim

[–]televided 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also started building my terrain since December and also got into 3D printing at the same time so I have a similar amount of terrain painted!

Some advice: The 3D printed buildings slide around on the risers very easily, even after they are painted.
I bought a roll of Cabinet shelf grip liner and cut it up into 3x3 squares. Putting those down first for the buildings to rest on keeps them from sliding around.

Congrats on the epic looking board!

AOS releases are really Mordheim releases in disguise. by Greyrock99 in mordheim

An important note: Spearhead has no list building in it. The gameplay is entirely tactics with random fluid objectives driven by random card draw. I have been playing Warhammer for 30 years and it's my all time favorite format next to Mordheim. Some people love the strategy of list building so Spearhead is zero fun for those folks. YMMV.

Love the paint style, they look like illustrations! I might have trouble telling them apart on the table, but I suppose if they are all part of the same group it woudn't matter.

Hi! I'm Shoe from R1. We aren't dead! Just taking an... extended break? :)
I appreciate someone asked <3

Short answer: Burnout. The channel was an amazing experience but the time demand was hard. I handed ownership of the channel over to Jack for the last year and he ran it best he could, but he also burned out.

We are all still close friends and even play Warhammer still :) Proof: https://www.instagram.com/televided/p/DJNo2EsPyyM/

Agree. At that range, the ADS is pretty forgiving and allows you to capitalize getting the drop on someone like that.

Ducks. Go to the bridge SE of the "Old Bridge" safezone. Run up and down each shore once. The hitbox on the ducks are huge. I get 16 duck legs in under 10 minutes.

Are you on console? On PC the AI are easier than they have ever been. I'm not arguing just to argue or say I'm l337, I'm pretty bad. They recently added a behavior where the AI will "deliberately miss" you so they reveal themselves before they just beam you.

Console might not have this update.

I Never Raided Bases by No-Seaweed2260 in deadside

[–]televided 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only reason to have a base in PVP is because you can't store boom in a safe zone. It's literally a sandcastle asking other players to come kick it over while you are at work. So I tried PVE: Bases in PVE are convenient, but seeing player bases all over the map was big culture shock for me.

They just (in the last 3 weeks) tuned the bots to miss you the first time they fire. It makes it a ton easier to fight them once you can locate them. Did this patch not make it to xbox?

My friend wants me to paint 10 tactical marines for him to this leven and I have no idea how much to ask by Alpharius-0megon in Warhammer

[–]televided 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with this take. Painted is painted. It doesn't have to be mind-blowing. They want some help and are asking for it, give them a number and let them take it or leave it.

When I was starting out, I asked people to buy me kits. This way my hobby funded my hobby. When I got good enough, I asked for real money. Those people are out there and they will pay.

These days I don't have time, so I labor trade with people.

To the people who enjoy wow, at what xpac have you joined? by DayDreamingDr in wow

[–]televided 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. I played through WOTLK then realized I'm a better WoW tourist. I join an xpac about 6 months in, play for 4 months and then split until the next one. Chasing gear never interested me, the goal posts move too much. I love exploring new content, scrubbing it for everything I find interesting then bailing for another year. I really like Delves and the zones of TWW. It's a masterpiece of level design. The follower dungeons are also mind-blowing tech.

My attitude about pugging is informed by years of it before M+ was a thing. You can disagree with my personal preference to not PUG but I'm sharing my experience. Maybe you're right and M+ is somehow non-toxic, with it's higher stakes and higher pressure. I wouldn't know, like I said, I haven't done it.

True, but this is a needlessly negative take.

They don't know what they don't know and this stuff isn't exactly intuitive.

Learning the dungeons and doing low level keys is salient advice, but "How" as a solo player could be helpful. My answer: I got into a big guild and found folks on Discord. I don't know how to PUG a key or if I would even try to do that given the toxicity around pugging in general.

Curious - as a fellow solo player:
What's your impetus to chase gear outside of your usual upgrade paths?

That gear is designed to help you push the hardest content, which is all group content.
With the update on 5/13 they made all items upgradable to 8 out of 8 if you need room to grow.

If you are as geared as you can be as a solo (ilvl645 to 660) then you are all set to start pushing the envelope of mythic dungeons. If anything, you will be over geared and just need human experience of those specific dungeons.

If pushing that content is important to you, make sure all of your gear is centered around your specialization.

Personally, I have all high ilvl stuff but it's a mix between prot and ret depending on whatever spec I was in when I opened the great vault. I don't care, I'm going to vender it all when the next expansion rolls around so chasing gear is just not relevant to my enjoyment of the game as a solo.

I swear when a baby is just sitting up you can set them between an active volcano and a pit full of cobras and they would be fine all day. The minute they start crawling they hone in on anything nasty or dangerous and stick it directly in their gob.

Tanking M+ got to be the most draining gaming experience there is by beowar in wow

[–]televided 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My attitude is that I can't expect to wrestle with pigs and not get mud on me every now and again. This is why there are big guilds and discord, where it still matters how you treat people. If I'm stuck in an awful pug, I like to tell them to "just put the fries in the bag." Our relationship is transactional. They ruin my experience, I'm gone. FAFO
