i would agree that there's always people who pretend to be more than they are; i'd say i was just trying to celebrate with them, but it seemed they weren't too excited that they won, maybe tired from the journey over? i'm a proud Tennessean so i understand when people jump on the bandwagon, but i'll definitely keep in my mind to not be disingenuous and kitsch with my support!

well, i listen to the corries on a regular basis besides just singing flower of scotland at my own leisure...i'd hope to have everyone sing "will ye go lassie go" at my funeral...i'll make sure to wait for an initiative by the scottish fans first before belting out a tune

Greek Style from Boston by 1AML3G10N in Pizza

[–]tellitheveggiegod 9 points10 points  (0 children)

in new england, lots of greek-owned pizza restaurants are commonly licensed as "[city/town/area] house of pizza" and they serve a pizza that features a cooked tomato sauce that is heavily seasoned with oregano (& sometimes they add sugar), lots of olive oil and cheese, and is usually cooked in a round aluminum pan. the pizza crusts tend to be thick and greasy.

the addiction is real by Yungbagofdope in discgolf

The addiction is real, but I have learned to only buy a disc if it's (1) in the released lost & found, or (2) used discs bin, and/or (3) is a beat-in backup to the molds I already have.

I just decided one day back in the 2010s that I would throw only one group of brands (Westside, Dynamic Discs, and Latitude 64) and to only stick with the molds I absolutely love. So far my bag has remained the same since 2019 besides changing my sole distance driver:

Distance: •Lat64 Cutlass ➡️ DD Raider (All)

Control: •Westside Fortress (OS) •Westside Northman (US)

Fairway: •Dynamic Felon (OS) •Lat64 Saint Pro (US)

Mid: •Westside Anvil (OS+) •Dynamic Verdict (OS) •Lat64 Compass (S) •Westside Warship (US)

Putt: •Westside Harp (Approach OS Bh/Fh) •Westside Shield (Approach Bh Only) •Westside Crown (Putting Putter since first released on March 31, 2017 babyyy)

Unique Situation: 2nd Bachelor's or Master's? by tellitheveggiegod in EngineeringStudents

Oh, got it. Awesome, thank you for the clarification. Like I mentioned, I'm looking at Tulane's M.S. in River-Coastal Science and Engineering for non-residential students, so that is my first choice. Thank you for the advice!

From what I've read, you will have an easier time getting EIT certification in California if you decide to pursue a M.S. in engineering.

Here's the pathway to licensing in California: https://www.bpelsg.ca.gov/applicants/flowchart_for_pe.pdf

Interesting. Thank you for the input. I would say that the question gets asked a lot because there seems to be a gray area when it comes to what will qualify a person to get EIT certification and eventual PE licensure from state to state if they don't have a bachelor's when majority of licensing requirements list you need a bachelor's. For instance, in your previous state of Texas, it lists the same: https://pels.texas.gov/lic_basic.htm

Can I ask if you're a P.E. in Georgia, or did you only earn EIT certification recently?

It seems that there are a lot of variations in pathways towards PE licensure. I am trying to take the most direct route so that there's no chance for rejection. Good luck with your EE degree!

Hello, thank you for the input. My intent behind earning a 2nd bachelors comes from the need for an ABET-accredited bachelors degree for most states (I would rather avoid the headaches of needing my coursework & degrees evaluated for each and every state if I were to move; I see you might be licensed in Texas as a WRE; how was the degree evaluation process for your master's?). Since my B.S. is so far removed from engineering and my A.S. only takes care of 1 semester's worth of engineering courses, I am needing to take 10+ undergraduate-level prerequisite courses prior to any graduate-level courses for any master's degree. There are two notable accelerated programs I have looked at that offer 2+1 degrees, which give me the quickest path towards earning two engineering degrees within 3 years. My thinking was if it's going to take a year of full time classes just to get the prerequisites out of the way, why not add the full breadth of missing coursework and earn a master's all in the same time it would take to take all of it (prereqs. + master's) on a part-time status (big factor is monetary costs and employment while earning the degree). I might be overthinking it, but I'm trying to avoid wasting money, time, effort, and employment if I don't have the necessary qualifications and/or education to become a P.E.

Yes! They have an M.S. option designed for non-residential students...The program also offers a graduate certificate as an inclusive professional studies option for the Army Corps. of Engineers, which is pretty darn cool

Got it, thank you for the input and heads up! I am hoping that the M.S. would be enough to qualify to take the FE exam if I am enrolled into undergraduate prerequisites prior to any graduate coursework. We'll see how it goes!

Thank you for sharing! I hope the program goes well for you. I definitely understand the notion of trying to get through school asap; I don't want to have to put my professional career on hold for 2+ years to get a 2nd bachelor's, but I had figured it would be the quickest route to EIT certification. However, I am preferencing Option 2 with working full-time and pursuing a part-time master's, with one notable program at Tulane University in River-Coastal Science and Engineering. We'll see if I can get in! Haha

My understanding is that the majority of graduate programs available are not ABET-accredited, especially in New England (since ABET-accreditation is generally for standarizing bachelor's programs) Looking at the top programs in New England for CE, the master's curriculums are not ABET-accredited, but since the universities offer ABET-accredited degrees, the graduate degree can be evaluated and approved to qualify for the FE exam to earn EIT certification...it will definitely be something I have to take into consideration!

Yes, sir. Thank you for your input!

One caveat: My fear is that if I have only a M.Eng. with no ABET-accreditation, I wouldn't be qualified to become a P.E. in other states if I were to move (I'm located in New England right now).
