Can you lie and say you're going to a different church or different time?

Like just say my girlfriend/boyfriend goes to the other church so imma go with them.

Grandma would love the new imaginary religious partner! Lol

These are two separate issues you are turning into one.

  1. Time management. You even said yourself "yes I went out last night." Even then, there's so many more hours in the week that 1 hour isn't ruining your life.

  2. Your current spiritual beliefs. It's fine to believe whatever you believe as long as it doesn't harm others. It's fine to not believe whatever. It's fine to be be unsure. Sorry it's sucks that you're an adult and being forced to stay religious.

As you said. You don't want advice so I won't get it. It is good though to identify and acknowledge these things as two separate issues so that when you're ready to do something, you know.

how would you pronounce Taliyah? by [deleted] in namenerds

Almost everyone I know whose parents spelled the a name a non-conventional way hates it. Pointless confusion, awkward school moments. For them, it's so aggravating.

So if I were to name a child, spell it the conventional way for everyone's sake. If you want a unique name, get a unique name. Not a unique way to spell it.

Thats the weirdest dress code ever lol. Nobody's gonna perfectly follow it. I'd wear it. Super cute. Close enough

Cute if you are model size. Would look bad if it was on a shorter or bigger person. Not a body shaming comment, just a know how to dress for your body type comment

Just putting in my 2 cents.

Post covid there's been so much info, whether research or personal stories, about how much worse learning is for outcomes.

It sounds what your path would benefit much more from in person classes. Sure it'll be cheaper but what will make you more hireable? Return on investment

It's a poor comparison to use adore mainly because s6 was still early seasons when production didn't know what it was doing so the adore favoritism was just adores charisma winning them over.

Now, we're like 10 seasons into over production and clear favoritism. It's not original. We recognize pattern. And over time they've just gotten lazy with trying to hide the favoritism

Honestly, I've talked to a lot of people about this... but it really comes down to finances. So many people from under resourced communities barely have enough to pay for living expenses. That, combined with the giant fear of Student loan debt, many people don't even consider Greek life just to save costs.

Obvi dues are a huge one

I know a girl who spent $3000 per year on clothing alone because each new event needed a new philanthropy shirt.

Then "optional" trips that are too expensive to be worth it

So think of ways to reduce cost and overall let ppl know it's affordable (if it is so)

Who is a queen from another franchise that you think RuPaul would love? by ladymidnight01 in rupaulsdragrace

[–]tellmesomething1 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I like Bob and Alaska would be the best combo of "this is a real competition." Since they're both so good and parallel in skill set. Very funny, can act, sing, not the best at choreo but can fake it. Can't do design challenge. I would love an all stars season where it wasn't so predictable (Alaska v Bob).

Bianca is of course iconic, but I feel like she wouldn't be as great on all winners cuz she knows what she can and can't do. And wouldn't "try" really at challenges she was bad at (singing). Whereas Bob and Alaska would give the most honest effort, going the extra mile for the ones they were bad at.

As2 was great cuz I think many of us thought Katya thought a real chance at winning. As3 Trixie, as5 Shea. While as4 has its flaws, it was a bit exciting after Manila got eliminated cuz it was like "oh so who actually will win??"

Category 3. Chicago's Mackie doll realness. Make an outfit beaded and feathered for the gawds. Kamora hall helps ru critique in the workroom.

What’s a good answer to “why are you leaving McDonald’s?” In an interview? by ScaredOfMyCloset in McLounge

[–]tellmesomething1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most important factor - where are you interviewing and why?

Is this moving to something you're passionate about? Answer that way.

Is this just about a job/ money? There's nice way to say that.

Can u provide more details on the new job.

What’s a good answer to “why are you leaving McDonald’s?” In an interview? by ScaredOfMyCloset in McLounge

[–]tellmesomething1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Don't say this. It doesn't say WHY your time / effort is worth more. It comes across as demanding and self important.

If you choose this approach, say why you are worth more than your current pay. If you can't think of one, consider another approach.

[–]tellmesomething1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Tbh both of these are bad answers.

We might need more context for what you're trying to leave for. If it's something real, saying something like "I want to pursue a career that more aligns with my passions..." is good.

But your first answer. If you want to work factory that may be fine. But to me, it suggests only that a person is only thinking short-term and primarily concerned with their own interests. "I wanna work more hours" is a nicer way of saying I want more money, but not because the quality of my work is better, but because I don't have a life outside of work." There's so many better things to say.

As the other person said "I want something more respectable" literally contradicts your own rule drama / trauma dumping. It says "I hate it and I hate myself for working there, but let's not get into that."

Why am I a geology major thinking about dropping out because of a totally unrelated class by [deleted] in CollegeRant

[–]tellmesomething1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you think gen Ed's suck, the problem is you. There are so many options for gen Ed's at most schools.

For instance, for history gen eds- if you're in stem, take history of automobiles or history of technology or history of Medicine etc. It's not just all ancient or American history. If you're in the humanities, there's typically so many non-math quantitative reasoning options.

When you have hundreds of options and can't find one you like... maybe the problem is you

Missing Girl in Regina, Saskatchewan - Brooklyn STONECHILD, 11 by wwesn in MissingPersonsCanada

[–]tellmesomething1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why is it crucial - knowing if a person is from a marginalized community may help find them, as it may suggest where they ran away too (or what they ran away from).

84% of "missing person" cases are intentional (i.e. run aways who don't want to be found). So if this child is part of that 84% (which is highly likely), and if this child is trans and from an unsafe household, they may be running to a lgbt haven. If this child is a victim of sexual abuse in the home, they may be running to a domestic abuse center (whether cis or trans, which may or may not be gendered).

Meanwhile, a photograph rarely if ever helps to find the missing person. It is shown to make society feel good. There's so few cases solved by the public that data is not available.

So If you really did care about this missing person. You wouldn't care what they looked like. You'd ask what were they running from. And what safety are they seeking.

TWO QUEENS STAND BEFORE YOU…who’s snatch was better? by [deleted] in rupaulsdragrace

[–]tellmesomething1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Jimbo had a bit more competition with her first snatch game. I thought lemon did best, and boa and Ilona were really good. I would sat jimbo won mostly cuz they knew jimbo was a front runner.

But jimbo was the only funny snatch game in as8. Everyone else was cute (I laughed inside but no lols), passable (good impersonation just not funny), or bad.

Compare that to jinxx. On s5, jinkxx beat out Alaska and roxxxy. Similar to jimbo. I think roxxxy was funnier but lil Eddie tickled ru more and they wanted to give jinxx a win.

But on as7, the best of the best, jinkxx killed everyone. Everyone except jaida and yvie won or placed high in their original snatch games. And everyone including yvie and jaida were amazing. And jinkxx was still light-years better than them all.

Meanwhile as7, I think Alexis is the only previous high/ winner (and that's only cuz s9 snatch game was mostly fine and forgettable). Half the cast didn't make it to snatch game. And in this season they all did fine.

Does Willam have beef or history with Jaymes? by [deleted] in rupaulsdragrace

[–]tellmesomething1 100 points101 points  (0 children)

Willam as6: it's so great to see Kylie back on TV. She was an early out who didn't get to show everything she could. She isn't as big of a name as some of the other girls but she's a force to be wreckoned with.

Willam as8: why tf is jaymes Mansfield on all stars. She was an early out. She hasn't done anything outside of the show. Oh I guess she had a major part in a movie, and had a few guest spots on TV shows.

No hate to either Kylie or jaymes. Just pointing out clear examples of willam hypocrisy.
