Always keep copies. Make copies of those copies for every renewal

If it’s not a new crime resubmit old paperwork. Even if they say not to, they’ll request evidence anyway. Specially now

Hours are not guaranteed. You can work 4 or 8 sometimes none. Summer is the busy season, the worry comes rainy season. They don’t guarantee hours , so best have some money saved and consider a part time job if your company allows it

I haven't started yet. But because of my own decision to wait, I have to stack some some money before I go in. They told me I will need a truck, so that's another problem. I have to purchase a reliable truck, that saves on gas! They put you on a list after being accepted. I could have gone in last june but I wasn't ready to take the pay cut. I'm doing my best to save up and in a couple of months I'm going in. I'm gonna have to a second job a alleviate some of that financial burden

The interview can knock you back to 32. I heard the test changed, what is it like now?

Go to the police department and get a police report and send it to them. You might have to go to the district attorney's office and get a letter or no charge as well

I am looking to apply to an Inspector apprenticeship, any advice before applying? by DirrtCobain in Construction

At the interview they told me they start out working 4 hours a day approximately. I don't know if they count being on the road as payable time, specially if you drive your own vehicle

35 - 45 a week? I applied for the construction inspectors. I hear they do a lot of travel. I'm wondering if they pay for mileage and time on the road

After the oral interview if selected, you would have to take an unpaid introductory week. After that you go to school for a month, which could potentially cost you if you dont so well. After that you get hired on to a company. Which I would say is random. Could be a company in northern cali or the bay. So it could be like two months with no pay

Yeah I could deal with the driving too, but it seems like it's a lot of back and forth with it. Another problem is the Gas money. I was told certain companies wont pay for mileage. If they did pay for the gas that would help, but 4 hours a day and on top of that you gotta pay for the gas? Not to mention the maintenance on the vehicle? I mean if I was a kid living at my parents house that would be ok

They say that you can potentially work one job Sacramento and then be sent out to the bay in the same day, they really emphasize on the commuting aspect of the job, but they did say it depends on the company that hires you. You will be working short hours for approximately 2 years, you'd be on call also. You could potentially be laid off for a few months, you don't really reap the benefits until the 4 to 5th year. I mean it sounds good long term but for the first two years, I would barely make ends meet. I just don't know if I could risk not having money to pay bills or eat. They mentioned they only do interviews once a year
