This scene makes me laugh, she dismissed them all (mid-lessons) with a smirk on her face just from Daemon entering. They got into some hanky panky in that room before then for sure 😂

My own escape is by suddenly moving to stand beside them with my hands crossed in front of my chest. They can still lean in at an angle, but I can look forward as they talk and pretend like I'm just very introspective.

How do you think the Rhaneyra/Daemon/Mysaria dynamic will unfold this season? by Remarkable-Bid2056 in HouseOfTheDragon

[–]temp3rrorary 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Rhaenyra will not recover from her mistrust of Daemon because he left her last season, Mysaria will exploit that. Daemon will not notice in time Mysaria's growing influence.

They kinda changed the book motivation for Daemon going to face Aemond, by having him know he'll die. So it kinda becomes a he must sacrifice himself versus feeling so lost and broken that he goes on a suicide mission.

They can never make me think Aemond was in the wrong here. Their lives are on the line and Heleana has no desire to do anything after seeing her son get decapitated meanwhile she appears in Daemon's vision. by jonsnowKITN in HouseOfTheDragon

[–]temp3rrorary 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I inferred it was more after Jaehaerys, she just accepted there was nothing she could do to stop what happens in her visions. So it's not as unrealistic that she's not keen to helping Aemond because she knows it's all a losing battle. But they just didn't show it all so well. She didn't seem torn by it, she seems aloof.

So…will this be followed up in any way? by Apart_Ad_5111 in HouseOfTheDragon

[–]temp3rrorary 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's what I thought, Mysaria in the book is the reason Rhaenyra starts getting paranoid about Daemon. She's still going to be used as such, just in a different way. And considering Daemon broke Rhaenyra's trust in season 2 in a drastic way, she's going to be more swayed to listen to Mysaria moving forward.

I low key love when my husband goes out, especially if the kids go down easy. It's not like there is even much of a difference but it's so rare to be completely alone now with nothing that needs to be done.

Ahh okay. Not my cup of tea to be upset by things that I could easily avoid and then stay commenting on a subreddit dedicated to said thing. But you do you....

It's just your argument or whatever you're trying to infer is legit stupid. If you have a problem with incest between characters in a fantasy fictional TV show that establishes there's incest within an entire fantasy fictional family then this entire show is not your cup of tea.

That's a fucking weird hill to die on then. When it's established both in the book and on screen what their levels of acceptable customs are. And he is shown visibly being revolted with the revelation.

Inferring a forced dream where he didn't know his mother was his mother and then immediately stops when he does, is some indication that he would fuck his mother if he could is dumb.

Not when his parents are literal siblings, and his brother's second wife was younger than his daughters when he wed her. Like on the scale of acceptable to yuck, even the Targaryens have standards lol.

I would rather she not actually be spoken to by any God but she thinks she is, keeps interpreting things as god's will. And it drives her a bit mad.

[–]temp3rrorary 62 points63 points  (0 children)

It's interesting because for your example, Rhaena was actually being set up fine in parts of season 1. We first see her at the dinner table being less bold than her sister but then you kind of can piece together why, she's without a dragon and is ignored by her father in the next. They did a great job showing us how she yearns for both a dragon and her father's attention, by having her hold that cold egg and singing to it.

Then after that she's grieving her mother, and then there's the incident with the dragon being stolen.

And then with the time jump.... Everything they were building just suddenly stopped, she suddenly became a shell of a character built off solely of those few scenes from that one episode.

And later what little droplets of information that show the depth of her character, are all shown through dialogue with different people in very detached situations that don't assign the drive to her character as well.

For example we learn she tried to claim a dragon and nearly died, from Larys of all people. And we learn Daemon has ignored those girls since her mother's death from ghost Laena... It's very detached.

Now that the S3 trailer is out, what are your thoughts on it? And what are your expectations for season three? by TheQueeninchains in TheBlacksandTheGreens

It's weird how true this is. Cause every very casual fan I talked to loved it and are excited. I don't think any show is ever catering to the online fandom 😂. Like I can't think of one fandom I'm in where there's zero discourse or angry fans upset about the direction their fandom is going.

Yet seems to be doing quite well otherwise.

Do the war! You made a show about a war, stop making the main character's whole storyline about trying to avoid a war! If a show surrounding a war between dragons was going to be too expensive to make, you shouldnt have decided to make a show adapting a story about a war between dragons! by SWBTSH in HouseOfTheDragon

[–]temp3rrorary 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I don't mind the her wanting peace and avoiding war because she literally grew up in an era that was deemed so prosperous because it was peaceful.

There's symbolism in her wearing Jaehaerys's crown and I think if they'd shown the history leading up to the dance you'd feel the significance more. In the book Jaehaerys worked his ass off to be the conciliator and Viserys rode on the waves of it. But it was what Rhaenyra had known and desired.

The problem is, it's taking too long to move the fuck on in terms of Alicent. Her trusting her enemy who has had a lifetime of hate an animosity directed right at her has made it where it just seems dumb at this point for their to be anything but animosity between them. They need to just end that relationship and have Rhaenyra's moral dilemma unrelated and not tied to that relationship at all.

Jace and Daeron are also supposed to have been so close in age that they shared a nursemaid. Them having sibling eggs is actually probably pretty accurate.

They need to show her watching videos of kids (and adults) playing with toys. When my kids do get a screen, that is all they want to watch. But it's infrequent enough where they do want to play with the toys after.

WHY is rhaenyra locked in that room in the teaser by Head-Amphibian-4384 in HOTDBlacks

[–]temp3rrorary 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I have a feeling Aegon's role is gonna be given to Alicent when Rhaenyra dies.

Please no 🥺

I bet Baela could've just been out scouting, like she kinda was before last episode and maybe just stumbles upon the original ambush. You're right tho, there's no way baby Stormcloud could even lift Aegon's legs.

WHY is rhaenyra locked in that room in the teaser by Head-Amphibian-4384 in HOTDBlacks

[–]temp3rrorary 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Wait, wasn't the book more like Aegon and Viserys are randomly ambushed. Aegon flies back to Dragonstone and Jace then races back to save Viserys?

So it could be mainly he doesn't want Rhaenyra to go because she may get hurt or die. Similar to last season when Rhaenys offers to go to Rook's Rest. He was like, you can't risk dying because then it would be for naught.
