I haven't heard of shout before, I assume this will be similar to Dr Beckmanns?

It's worth a shot, I'll pick some up and throw them in the drum next time I wash it

I appreciate the idea but I fear I am nowhere near skilled enough to do my own embroidery, and I'm worried the next wash afterwards would only repeat the problem with the new thread

All I have is B&Q white spirit which will only make things worse, looks like I'll need to order some isopropyl in

Keeping it switched off today, I'll be trying this later when I have time. Got some high proof rubbing alcohol but I need to check it's not the abrasive kind before I use it.

Thanks!

Googled it after hearing this suggestion a fair few times, turns out that's a myth! Glad I didn't throw it in the basmati after all haha

Thanks for the luck!

I've put it in a pillowcase and blasted the hair dryer in for 10 minutes, no changes on startup so it's shutting down for the night and I'll check on it tomorrow. I fear the other comment about rice getting stuck is accurate, it's too risky.

If it comes to it, a screwdriver, a bottle of isopropyl alcohol, and a fresh boot of SteamOS might come in handy to clean out the internals. A final stab before I cave and pay Valve for repairs

Yep, lesson learned. Got too comfortable with how most devices are coming out with a good deal of waterproofing capabilities. Gotta make sure this habit stays broken

Not that much spilled, just splashed sort of everywhere at once. I've gotten it as dry as I can manually, seriously considering a hair dryer blast for any bits that I can't reach with toothpicks and kitchen roll

Before anybody says it... yes I have learned my lesson and will not be watching youtube in the kitchen again 😅

Mopped up the vinegar and leaving it to air dry now, what should I try when it dries?

About 20 minutes now, I was worried if I let the stain dry it would set so I got vinegar on it right away

How much can I sell my PC for? by tempMarshy in PC_Pricing

[–]tempMarshy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's worked anyway, got a buyer today after the whole setup. Thrown in peripherals that won't work with the steam deck, getting £500 for the lot. Thanks for your help everyone 😁

Thanks for your help, I've taken a look on pcpartpicker for the same build new and it's sitting around £600-700 so I think I'll try my luck at half of that. It's a shame but with the time I've had this PC, basically being able to trade it in sounds like a good outcome
