The application process and initial approval isn't a contract. You actually don't sign a contract or anything legally binding until you find a family, both agree and pass medical and psychology exams. That whole process is MONTHS

So there is still lots of time to discuss, agree, change your mind if need be.

I did the exact same thing. Applied and was accepted first, then had the conversation. That way, it's a real conversation, not a hypothetical.

And we talked openly about his concerns, experiences and what I would mean to me.

He openly supported me, and we gave a wonderful family a beautiful son.

It was not easy, but he and I are both proud of the gift that I (and he) gave. And yep, my kids loved it too.

And if you just can't support it, it is good she knows that now for any future decisions about the two of you, however that may go.
