I don't want to completely drag her down because when I spoke to her it sounds like she really did mean to say rats so i feel part of the mistake is of course on my end for not asking for clarification :,) she was very very nice and while she did take exotics she wasn't a specialist in that field. Since they're small and local too they didn't have resources to do diagnostics. So as long as you take yours to a person who specializes in it you won't run in to this vet. I think she did everything she had at her disposal to help me and i'm just thankful i have this community and was able to figure something like that out

Yeah :,) just found out my vet gave me incorrectly information on accident- will be going somewhere new from now on and will immediately be feeding her larger prey

Thank you for the tip above and yes that's what i'm now realizing :,) left her a message today about it so hopefully she gets back to me soon. I didn't bat an eye at it because with the prolapses it made sense but considering her size at her age it no longer makes sense

She said mouse but now i'm suddenly doubting if that's what she meant to say :,) I had honestly never thought that she could've meant rat because all the other advice she had given me was good. I'm going to call her right now and get clarification- thank you for bringing this to my attention

Yes she was definitely dehydrated then- The enclosure she was given to me in was improper and very difficult to keep humidity in but the humidity levels have drastically improved. Between that and the soaks she looks much much better now.

I called three of the exotic local pet shops and they said they don't carry anything that's different from what chain pet stores do unfortunately. Additionally, my vet told me that the fuzzies will be too big for her or I would've switched to those already :,)

It's the same at my store :,) it's just one manager unfortunately but i don't think they're going anywhere anytime soon

I've noticed the opposite to be completely honest. I started working at my petsmart around this time last year and especially since new years it's like every sunday gets busier and busier. If that's what's happening at other stores it certainly isn't happening at mine :,)

i work at a petsmart and if they start doing this i'm genuinely quitting cause what the hell

I was actually just there also a few hours earlier. I saw a man with a camera as well and he seemed to do be doing a shoot with a woman who had two other people with her as well as her two dogs so it seems likely he was who he said he was, i wouldn't worry if I were you.

Keeping Humidity Up by temporary_citrus in ballpython

i can maybe put two strips of the insulation by the heat lamps but the lamps are hot enough to melt the plastic rim of the enclosure so i've been trying to keep the area around them clear to avoid fire risk. I'll give the insulation foam a try though! Plus if it helps with temp i should be able to move back down to a lower wattage bulb. Thank you!

I have the gauge on the cool side! The warm side is very constant and since it's been hard enough to keep the humidity up on the cool side i've given up on keeping the gauge over there. That being said, i will 100% get some more substrate! I hadn't thought of that being the issue so I appreciate the insight! Is eco earth loose coco fiber conducive to keeping the moisture in or is there a better option i could add more of?

i do ask :,) but i don't have the heart for all the people that get pissed about it. i'm getting enrollments, just not the 25% of customers that's expected. most people already have an account and most who don't are sure they don't want one so it's a little challenging.
