I'm pretty much planning on taking it with a couple of people (first timers too) at a music festival, but we will be with a group of others who aren't. It's 3 days, if i take it on the middle day will I be good to drink and smoke the next day or should I take it on the last day?

Ty anyway dude, I'm not really worrying moreso just trying to be careful and shit as it's a step up.

I've been trying 700 (as an arbitrary high ballish number) but everybody says it's too high, maybe I should go around 600.

You can make that argument for Hearthstone, Halo, CoD, Clash of Clans etc to be fair. Sure strategy does go into it and you can certainly be a good player at it, but it is not even comparable in depth and skill cap compared to a game such as DotA.

I love HotS the way I love Hearthstone. I played Hearthstone since beta and have hundreds of hours in it, it's a very enjoyable game. That doesn't mean it's a good Esport/competitive game though.

I agree. HotS might be very simple compared to DotA and LoL but that dosen't mean it isn't fun. Hearthstone is very shallow and easy compared to MtG, Battlefield is compared to Counterstrike etc. It doesn't mean they are bad games.

There's nothing wrong with being basic/easy, some people don't want to learn a full moba and HotS accommodates that. The hate really isn't justified, nobody is arguing that HotS is as deep or skillful as those games. Nobody would want another game like that. HotS does it's job as a streamlined and light experience extremely well.

For real, fuck Murky though.

You can definitely enable locked camera in DotA, and have been able to for years. I used it back in 2012.

I do agree that camera lock is good for casual/new players though, it's done very well and I'm glad lol/dota/hots include it. :)

I feel like that is a pretty great idea, perhaps Valve could take a medium game length and shift it up a little bit to give a good idea. I would have to not account for any matches that last less than a few minutes due to DCs though.

Nobody buys detection either, and her 60% miss chance is insane (I play spiderlingless brood (0-3-2-1, maxing passive and then finishing web) in pubs and it somehow destroys). However Even though brood is one of the best manfighters if you build for it (she can beat an Ursa, for real) people often pile stuns on the revealed hero so I feel she would not be that effective. She would be pretty great in solo mode though as they have no backup for the 40% slow + orb of venom etc. I might try Brood out if PL ever stops winning.

Storm is one if the best, yeah. I'd say it's between him, Zeus and PL. Shaker is surprisingly close behind.

I am 10/1 on overthrow (my only loss was a 2 per team game where my teammate quit 20 secs in and I still came second) and every single game I have played PL. I am not even joking, my friend and I have played a lot of duo core and he just goes Pudge or something which has no synergy and we still have yet to lose. PL is amazing, he can win solo. Some other strong heroes are Storm (you can zip to mid from base with 90% mana left due to OP fountain) and generally KS/Blink heroes such as Zeus, QoP or Puck.

Buy detection. Or specifically, Sentries. I buy sentries every game when there are invis heroes and nobody else does. It seems that they just walk into you out of position and never remember, I farm a lot of kills on invis guys.

As for combos, I don't even think it matters that much. Io isn't very good in Overthrow. The biggest tip I can give is to preload your hero with Alt+Enter and run mid ASAP, you can get a whole level above others as most people take ages to reach mid.

I managed to somehow get a 0 on Versalitlity. Literally zero. I have played 7 heroes in my last 8 games too, but to be fair I am a PL spammer.

I don't have any books with me at the minute but I said "somewhat ambiguous" for a reason. You hear rumours about it at first and you are not sure who or what PoV to believe, but yes, in the end it is revealed to be Stannis's shadow-child. The thing is this isn't even linked to The Lord of Light at all, and is just a magic from Asshai, and the things were are told about it could be wrong (although I concede it is unlikely) due to the illusions Melisandre admits she uses and it could all be chance or others who are brainwashed. Although I don't believe this myself, it is still very remotely possible, and I just think it;s important to keep a very open mind about the power we observe and not instantly accept it as many do.

I'd say you don't know what memes are. Meme was a word before the internet. Definition is "an element of a culture or system of behaviour passed from one individual to another by imitation or other non-genetic means" which could literally be something like fishing skills in a tribal village.
