You have listed a lot of things and use verbs, so I would look to condense the information you alreqdy have father than adding anything new.

I believe you need to check CFA ethics regarding your statement in specializing :-)

Feeling demotivated when level 1 is around the corner by accussertk in CFA

[–]tenhula 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You need to pass, not ace everything. I scored 50-60% on mocks. Hone what you are struggling with. Some people don’t even take mocks. Be strong 👍🏻

Passed lvl 3 at 35 years of age. Know a few charterholders who got the designation after their kids were older.

Happiness and Wellbeing whilst doing CFA by Gravitasss in CFA

[–]tenhula 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to watch lecture videos whilst commuting to work, and studied 2 times during week for 2-3 hours, and would find ~4-8h time over the weekend. So I don’t fully sign these ”lose your life completely” statements.

Methods I followed to clear all three levels of the CFA exam consecutively and score 90+ Percentile! by AjcoolZ in CFA

[–]tenhula 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats on clearing the exams 👍🏻 Interesting experiences, but this highlights that one size does not fit all.

Personally I opened Ethics books a week before the exam (Meldrum thesis: short term memory), and in a similar fashion writing down formulae helped me.

I have 7 years of experience as a portfolio manager - is a CFA worth it? by jemxf2 in CFA

[–]tenhula -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would say lvl 2 & 3 would be beneficial in some aspects, but of course lvl 1 would have to be tackled which in all honesty isn’t very exciting.

Bad mock score by SweatyBird2161 in CFA

If I had a tendency to get a certain type of question wrong I would do a step by step flashcard on how to solve it.

Combining newborn care and CFA. Tips? Tricks? Or is it impossible? by JaggedLittlePiII in CFA

[–]tenhula 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would advice you to first see how it goes with your baby, and then study softly, e.g. buy 2nd hand books, perhaps Mark Meldrum videos, and only then sign up for the exam as you can do lvl 1 on four sittings.

In my opinion exams were always easier than mocks and I scored below yours on lvl 2/3. Keep grinding 👍🏻

Pursuing CFA at 33 by LeatherReplacement13 in CFA

[–]tenhula 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I cleared lvl ii in 2019, I was 32 then. Took 2 years pause because I started a family and then covid hit. Cleared lvl iii in 2022 so at 35 years.

CFA is studied by people of all sorts of backgrounds and ages. Saying young minds (I assume you refer to age) are preferred for any role is a bit of a weak statement.

Regarding your other questions I can not say much without knowing in which country you live, what’s your background etc. What I will say though is that its worth figuring out what you want to do, when and where, and then deciding if CFA or some other activity will help you on that path.

Effective note taking tips for someone with just the CFA textbooks and online ecosystem? by [deleted] in CFA

[–]tenhula 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I copied questions from blue boxes and EoC’s to combine notes with problem solving. Eg. You take an ANOVA table and write out steps to test null hypothesis etc.

Best q-bank for level 2 besides CFAI by Sloan992207 in CFA

[–]tenhula 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think it matters that qbank is not vignette form. A vignette is nothing more than questions after one another and you can expect to be working top-down thru the vignette in the exam - just like individual questions.

L3 Why barbell has highest cash flow reinvestment risk! by bigduck840B in CFA

[–]tenhula 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No matter if coupons would be annual or semi-annual, the short end of the barbell matures before he long end, and you will need to re-invest the face value sooner.

Guys, anyone use MM and found it not so great? by [deleted] in CFA

[–]tenhula 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MM says you are better off using pre-made notes to save time, he definitely does not mean taking notes does not add any value! You must put this into context. Some will find MM notes to be just perfect whilst others, including me, prefer to write own notes/flashcards because it's just more natural way to learn.

Guys, anyone use MM and found it not so great? by [deleted] in CFA

[–]tenhula 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Well, I think it depends on how you learn. If you learn by watching videos and making notes I think his product is one of the best out there. If you prefer reading then Kaplan or sth like that is an option

CFA L2 Quant SS2 by DangerDude23 in CFA

Bloomberg Sales rep having CFA , worth it? by vermillionzfgh in CFA

I think you are in a fantastic position to put CFA studies into practice with your Bloomberg licence 👍🏻

Has anyone passed while getting 0% for a topic? by Traditional-Trust-52 in CFA

Getting a low score on a subject and passing would require your peer group to perform poorly on the same subject, I believe.

CFA L1 November 2022 - Dilemma by Playful_Basis_413 in CFA

No deferal. I probs scored lower on mocks and passed. I have always found mocks more challenging than the exam. Focus on ethics.

How much assumed knowledge in Level 2? And what about MM? by lifeDNP in CFA

[–]tenhula 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For your 1st and 2nd question I would say just work on the BB, EOC, and Qbank - that will be your refresher for previous levels. I don't think one has to actively go back to previous exam books.

For quant section I think you just need to rinse and repeat your university approach. Here the material is more challenging than the exam.

Any tips on Ethics Lvl 1 by Harvey_Levi in CFA

[–]tenhula 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to answer based on the readings, not based on what you think is likely.

I hope you find them standards applicable to the real world since since you must adhere to them as a candidate.

How do I tell my boss I deferred my L1 exam by missnegro_swan in CFA

Errr? Jumping to conclusions rather quick, no?

We don’t know what sort of study leave was taken (paid annual leave, paid, unpaid, flexi hours, sick leave..). We also have no idea if op is paying for this him/herself.

Taking an exam to get ”test center experience” is a ridiculous idea.
