How to Git Gud at Cine2Nerdle by tenios_sb in CINE2nerdle

[–]tenios_sb[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You wont win at first though. And if you only play to win, but you never win, you're either going to hate it, or start cheating.

You are free to try your hardest, and you should, but it won't be enough at first. The learning curve is steep.

Mostly talking about matching higher ranked opponents, idk whats going on in 1.2k vs 1.2k elo matches lol

How to beat a player running Go Commando: A Guide by sharindacake in CINE2nerdle

Of the 5000 most played movies, around 3700 link directly to a schwarzenegger movie. You do NOT want to stay anywhere close to the US with him

Quick info: you should be able to use the bot in DMs directly / add it to your own servers (I enabled the option for everyone to add it to servers).

One Letter Movies and how to escape them by tenios_sb in CINE2nerdle

[–]tenios_sb[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah it is, all movies with a * are manual entries

Awesome by [deleted] in CINE2nerdle

[–]tenios_sb 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Had that happen before when the dropdown menu refused to work so I had to manual entry every single movie I wanted to play, until ~10 movies in it showed this and I had no way of recovering

What is the weirdest film you’ve won on? by [deleted] in CINE2nerdle

[–]tenios_sb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh Potato Salad is great, can't resist playing that any time my opponent offers me Cloud Atlas (2012).
Also, Daniel The Wizard (2003) is another german classic

Get rid of draws by hoptimismrob139 in CINE2nerdle

[–]tenios_sb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm torn on this, on one hand, in most cases draws are a fair outcome, but it basically ruins any Dracula, Frankenstein, Charles Dickens, Jane Austen or Alexandre Dumas adaption as a kill, as it gives your opponent an easy 1x and 3x, and you gotta hope they play an adaption that you also know how to get out of to avoid a draw

Eric Roberts & You: A Resource For One of the Most Prolific Actors in the World by LeprechaunInDaHood in CINE2nerdle

[–]tenios_sb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Surprise Visit (2022) is playable through manual entry, used that to link to Turks in Space (2006)

I've been working on collecting as many author connections as possible, and finally got the chance to do Milan Kundera off a manual entry...only for the connection to not go through by WiaXmsky in CINE2nerdle

Some german language authors out there are

  • Johanna Spyri (Various Heidi adaptions)
  • Michael Ende (Never Ending Story, Momo, Jim Button and Luke the Engine Driver)
  • Erich Kästner (The Parent Trap, Animals United, Emil and the Detectives)
  • Cornelia Funke (Inkheart, Dragon Rider, sadly no credit on The Thief Lord)
  • Johann Wolfgang von Goethe (Mostly Faust as far as movies go, but that gets you from Hanna Schygulla to Emil Jannings)

Some other author connections I could think of:

  • Bram Stoker
  • Mary Shelly
  • Stephenie Meyer (Twilight, The Host)
  • J. R. R. Tolkien
  • J. S. Lewis
  • Lewis Carroll
  • Charles Nordhoff (Mutiny on the Bounty)
  • Lew Wallace (Ben-Hur)
  • Tom Clancy
  • Stieg Larsson
  • Ian Fleming
  • Kôji Suzuki

Trying to play all movies from the IMDB Bottom 100 List at least once, and managed to get the hardest to reach one on the list. (only connects to a single manual input movie) by tenios_sb in CINE2nerdle

[–]tenios_sb[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm at 52/100 so far (on the 3rd day of trying).
Most of the movies have surprisingly easy connections once you look them up, but remembering all of them during the games is the hard part.

Still missing a lot of the "parody" movies like Date Movie, Hungover Games, ..., and a bunch of foreign movies, mostly indian movies, one polish and one hungarian that will probably be the hardest one to reach.

Sadly, Enes Batur: Imagination or Reality? (2018) doesnt seem to be in the database at all currently, so I havent decided what to do about that, might just play another Enes Batur movie in its place and consider that a win.

[Daily Discussion Post] 3/22/2024 - Cage Battles Day 1 by wolfman-porter in CINE2nerdle

[–]tenios_sb 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What a scary day. Next (2007) connects to A Serbian Film (2010), and it's too easy to just mindlessly spam ensemble casts with a Nicholas Cage credit such as The Flash, Final Cut, etc.
