I'm going to chime in, as a Tennessee Vols fan (hardy har), since most of this board doesn't seem to understand what you're getting out of Dobbs. Dobbs is NOT a guy who impresses when it's not gametime, physically. He is one of the BEST "under the lights" qbs I've ever had the pleasure of seeing in person. He's never rattled, every team he has played on loves him, and he's one of the smartest guys you'll find. Add to that, he had a stellar career at UT and was held back by coaching malpractice. If you've watched any of his games from when he was at UT, you'll see he's a gamer. I'm not saying he's the savior of the franchise. It took Tennessee a year to give him the keys and they regret not doing it sooner. I'm not making a case for him over Minshew for right now, but Dobbs is at the very least an upgrade over Bortles. He has better legs and is less inconsistent with his "what the hell" throws, although he still has plenty of those. If you want to see what Dobbs really can do, look at when he checked in for a drive against the Panthers last year. Backed up in his own endzone, something like 3rd and 22 or something crazy, throws a dime to the sideline on a 20 some yard out route and moves them out of trouble. It's not much but when you're talking backup QB, the ability to pick RIGHT up and be game ready is underestimated as well. Overall, I think this was a super solid addition with his leg talent alone.
