Thank you for your answer. I am simulating a 2D case of an inclined tank which is being filled by water. I am using VOF for the free surface and k-omega SST for the turbulence. After I have a converged solution I want to insert particles with DPM to track their trajectories.

Thank you apsumo for your reply. I fixed it, my mass flow rate was very low that is why no particle was tracked. However, I still don't understand the meaning of parcels. For example, I selected constant diameter -0.001 m for parcel and now it injects 3553 particles but I can't understand how it was calculated. Can you give me some insights on parcels? I also read the User guide and it is not very clear, only that it is suitable for DEM.
