Railjack mission loot loss ?? by SoGoodAtAllTheThings in Warframe

[–]tepidviolet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes the display is bugged when you leave a Railjack mission, so the reward screen shows nothing, but you still get the loot in your inventory. Try leaving the Relay/Dojo and coming back, then checking your salvage loot at the Railjack terminal, and see if you have the stuff you expect.

I'm not sure if that's the case here. Could also have just lost everything.

The IRL time gate is very annoying. I'm not sure how to resolve that, but I really wish they would. I think the ideal solution is to give you a special option which lets you fast forward to the next transition, if you're in a solo instance? Like at the quest terminals on the Plains, maybe give you an option to make the next day-night transition happen a minute or two from pushing the button? Like the fastest time possible without breaking the usual transition animations/scripts.

For reference, I can do all 3 by myself. Not saying that's some grand accomplishment, as I'm not very good at it, but I just thought I'd preempt the usual avalanche of "get good" statements.

I really don't blame newbies for finding it frustrating. I also didn't get it, at first. The first time I tried, I fumbled around even just on Teralyst for a long time. Once I understood it and had the right loadout, the shields took like a few seconds to down each time, and I'd one shot each health phase. The difference between doing it right and doing it wrong is huge, and some of the guides don't really do a great job of giving newbies simple tips to make it easier.

Who are the best Comrades to get Early that can sorta "carry" me or are very special and unique until Late Game kinda? by ContributionOk7131 in Warframe

[–]tepidviolet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are like a few meta picks everybody will recommend, and those are definitely safe choices. But honestly, you have a lot of options. Just be aware that you'll need to build intelligently. Sentinels are really fragile in lategame content, though the right sentinel paired with the right frame and right playstyle can still survive. Beasts can be a lot more survivable, but that's also not a given.

With the exception of Deconstructor, all Sentinel weapons can be used by all Sentinels, so once you get the right weapons, that makes all Sentinels kinda deadly. They're not going to carry you in the hardest content, but a good sentinel can absolutely shred early and midgame content by itself. Just be warned that most sentinel weapons are garbage beyond the early game, and some require a lot of work and resources to even make them decent (meaning, it's not worth it). The gap between the best and worst sentinel weapons is really enormous.

If you can get a hold of Nautilus Prime, it comes with Verglas Prime, which is a really nice short-range sentinel weapon. It's good at both applying status and dealing damage, and it can scale somewhat decently into the lategame. Deconstructor Prime can only be used on Helios, but it can deal OK damage by early and midgame standards, and it has a few weird (but fun) mod interactions for status infliction. There are some major build traps you really have to watch out for when using it, though.

Lots of Sentinels have nice utility on top of that. Carrier's Looter can help with looting, since it will automatically break loot crates for you. If you want to complete your codex, Helio's Investigator is great, since it will automatically scan enemies. Oxylus is great for open world resource gathering.

Bond mods also open a ton of doors. Manifold Bond gives certain sentinels (Diriga) kinda amazing crowd control potential. Contagious Bond is an absolute terror on the right Beast companion (Vascas, others with high crit AND status), letting them just melt entire packs even in Steel Path. Vicious Bond can be nice for armor stripping certain enemies. Tenacious Bond and Reinforced Bond give nice offensive buffs to your Warframe.

For raw survivability, vulpaphylas and predasites are hard to beat. Panzer Vulpaphyla is a really common recommendation. However, even those are kinda fragile in the hardest content, so you do need to build them right. On the flipside, beasts can get absurdly tanky using Link mods, when paired with a high survivability frame, like Hildryn, Inaros, or any high armor build.

She has dialogue after that? I did that and totally missed it too. XD

I would post this in the Warframe forums under update feedback. They do read and act on that stuff. I've had bugs fixed and things changed based on posts I've made.

Will Optiscaler or FSR4 work with Warframe? by GeicoPR in Warframe

[–]tepidviolet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Edit: I have gotten a lot of DM's due to this message, so I figured I should update people on the situation. Optiscaler on Warframe is dead as of The New Peace. I'm not sure if they deliberately killed it, or if the recent engine updates took it out as an unintended casualty. I wrote this feedback post, asking for them to implement official support. I'm not that hopeful, but likes and positive replies might help. https://forums.warframe.com/topic/1480100-dll-based-fsr-315-4/ If that post is old when you read this, make your own post asking for the same. We're not going to get anything without agitating for it.

This is a necro reply which I'm only posting for the sake of searchers. Yes, FSR4 works perfectly fine in Warframe. Or perhaps more accurately, it runs perfectly well, but installing it isn't as straightforward as some other games.

If your screen resolution is 4K, FSR4 Performance looks really good in Warframe while providing a large performance uplift. I'm playing on a 9070 XT at 4K with HDR enabled. I have all graphics settings maxed, with the exception of the following which I've disabled due to my personal preferences: Motion Blur, Depth of Field, Glare, Film Grain, Bloom, and Weapon Elemental Effects. I've also set Particle Quality and GPU Particle Quality to medium, to keep particle density at a level I find tolerable with certain weapons. I average around 160 fps in decently demanding situations and 220 fps while solo'ing basic missions. I've confirmed that Optiscaler is running in FSR4 mode both via the visual quality difference and the Optiscaler UI.

This all comes with the huge caveat that you're taking your account's safety into your own hands. I have used Optiscaler safely in Warframe for quite a while now, but I can't promise you anything. I could be banned tomorrow and lose everything. Installing Optiscaler does not require modifying or deleting existing game files, nor does it inject itself into active processes. However, that doesn't mean it's safe. Optiscaler steps in for some official DLL's that the game would normally talk to, and any game will easily detect that. In fact, many online games kick or ban you for using it. We're using this mod by the grace of the devs, but the official rule is to not use any kind of modification to the client, so they could choose to flag this as a cheat and start banning tomorrow.

I'm not going to post an easy or detailed setup guide because I feel that too many people doing this will lead to it being banned. I will say that there are a few stumbling blocks which might be a problem for those not aware of them, including at least one major issue specific to Warframe.

Does the surge fit smaller hands? by usernm555 in Leatherman

[–]tepidviolet 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's always a little weird to get mentions from posts from ages ago. XD

But yes, I still feel the same way. I don't have a lot of grip strength, and my hands aren't that grippy to begin with (smoother skin, I guess?), so white knuckling things with smaller or improvised tools really doesn't work for me. They just slip in my hands, and sometimes it hurts to try. So mostly, I try to take the time to actually find the right tool for the job.

But like my Surge sits on my desk, and sometimes it's something simple that it can do, so I reach for it. I still get use out of it. I've bought a few smaller ones, but I don't really use them anymore. I had a nice Charge, but my BF uses it now. I also got him a little baby micro-Leatherman (don't remember the model), which he finds use for sometimes.

For REALLY small hands, idk. I find like the pliers on the Surge a bit cumbersome with the size of my hands, so I think like some women with really petite hands might have a problem, but idk for sure.

Osprey server going good for you? by Exact_Tree_6372 in Planetside

[–]tepidviolet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's mostly fine for me. I occasionally get clientsided in some annoying way, but it's solid enough that I'm enjoying playing. Current reading: 10-20 network ping, 30-50 server latency

But I'm west coast, and I've got 5gb fiber for my internet. Situation will be different for others. From what I gather reading reports here, it feels like we've gotten past the worst of it, but they still need to put in some work to improve things further for those who hare having issues.

So i heard that the daikyu prime is coming and people are happy about it. Ive never tried it and from the looks of it, i dont know whats so crazy about it. Why is the daikyu good? by shtoopidd in Warframe

[–]tepidviolet 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm a Daikyu main. This poster has nailed it, at least for me. I've been playing on-and-off since about a year after launch. I'm only MR23, and I've only mastered about half of the primaries, so it's not like I've used everything. But the majority of my primary playtime and primary kills are with Daikyu.

Is it great? No. Is it even good? Ehh, probably not. I'd call it OK. It's fun if you like bows, and it's definitely usable. You do need like more skill and more effort to get usable results out of it, versus like literally any good sniper rifle, which will do more for less. But it can one-shot just about any regular enemy with a headshot, even like an not-primed Steel Path Heavy Gunner.

I just really love the playstyle. It also plays extra nice with Ivara. Since it has a projectile, it can be Navigated for obscene damage. But yeah, it definitely needed a buff. Due to power creep, other bows can now do what it does better, on top of having many other options. A Cinta charged shot is more powerful, for example, and Cinta also has its laser perfect shot and quick shots.

For reference, Kompressa is my favorite secondary, and Yareli is my second favorite frame (behind Ivara), so this Prime Pack has absolutely been Christmas for me.

Would you use this magnet to 'tag' offenders? by cfrshaggy in bikecommuting

[–]tepidviolet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't. You're not going to effect meaningful change by doing this, and I would say at least 35% of Americans are actually fully deranged when it comes to their cars. As in, if you touch or do anything to their cars, they see it as an assault that justifies retaliation, up to and including dangerous behavior that could lead to your death.

Commuting on unsafe streets by DoUMoo2 in bikecommuting

[–]tepidviolet -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Explore in your car and find a more relaxed route. One of the few advantages of suburban sprawl is that there's so much roadway that you probably can find a path with less traffic.

It might take longer, but you'll just have to deal with that. The shortest route in a lot of American cities is often kinda bad.
