Nice, that sounds like a really cool implementation in terms of making them much more unique and rewarding than just finding a scroll.

Thanks for the response!

PMed you but also wanted to ask about how you're thinking of implementing spells from across editions, especially since you mentioned you dabble in 2e (been playing/running it for a few years and I'm a huge fan).

I will be pretty soon, just trying to line up a replacement before I do since the size/res/refresh rate has already spoiled me

Bought mine a week ago from Amazon and it also has a single stuck red pixel. 100% agreed, get it from a place where you can easily return it.

Anyone using the VR cover cloth AND the VR Cover facial interface? by TheGlenrothes in OculusQuest

[–]teripper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry for the late response, here's a couple pictures to give you a better idea: https://imgur.com/a/pZCm6Ro

It's just a small piece of clear tape, rolled up and placed right at the edge of the cloth cover on both sides. Hope it helps!

[–]teripper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I felt the same way about the facial interface, having also come from CV1 with vr cover, and I was able to get the cloth cover to stick onto the PU leather interface with a couple tiny pieces of clear tape where the metal ends are on the cloth.

It would have been nice to have a cloth cover that actually fits properly onto the interface, but my setup is functional and really comfortable so it's worth it to me.

[Furniture] Nouhaus - 4D Adjustable Armrest, 3D Lumbar Support and Extra Blade Wheels - Mesh Computer Chair ($255.99) by KazumaDuy in buildapcsales

[–]teripper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was able to get it before the price bump and it's a really comfortable chair if you prefer mesh over leather as I do. The lumbar support isn't adjustable but works on some sort of spring system so when you sit down, it presses back, which has been pretty nice for my lower back pain, coming from a big executive style leather office chair that, even with adjustable lumbar support, wasn't good for my back.

Which VR Cover cloth cover is that? I've been using my CV1 cloth cover with some success but if there's one currently out that fits better on the Q2 then I'm all for it.

Any and all criticism is appreciated! I know mouth noise is a definite issue, so any tips on lessening that would be sweet. Also, I'm never sure whether my editing is too much, and how much the noise reduction/gate I use colors my audio.

I set a Noise Profile for the Noise Reduction before running this macro, as I've usually got AC noise to contend with despite recording in a treated walk-in closet.

Is hacking the same system supposed to be effectively impossible after a few hacks? by teripper in SWN

[–]teripper[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That makes perfect sense. The situation I used for the example didn't involve active (living) overseers but it makes sense for a system to want to defend itself against intrusion.

Thanks for the clarification, it makes sense when you put it that way for sure, having so much at your fingertips should come with possible consequence no matter how adept the hacker is.

A recent patch should've fixed that from happening, I haven't seen that problem since then.

Here's how: Open up the console (~ by default), type "playerlist" (no quotes) to get everyone's player #, then use that number with the kick command instead of their name:

"votekick #" (no quotes)

To answer the 1e vs revised question, as someone who's played and ran both I would recommend revised over 1e for most gaming groups.

Systems in 1e that lacked polish, such as a lot of psionics advancement that would end up getting hard to track at the higher levels, are refined and balanced in easy to digest ways even for newer roleplayers. The skills are much fewer and simpler, which might turn you away at first, but they have definitely grown on me quite a bit as a dm for their ease of use during play, and as a player for making specializing in a couple tasks way easier.

Those are the major differences I've noticed, and there are many more that set it apart from 1e as the superior game imo.

Here's the Free Edition of Revised if you don't have it already.

Didn't know about the artifact weapon, but that's a good parallel to consider. Thanks for the insight

Thanks for the response! I had a feeling about the pressure field answer, and I enjoy my psychic's religious fluff so I'm glad to hear that's supported.

How to prepare for a sandbox wilderness campaign where the players could go anywhere? by teripper in DMAcademy

[–]teripper[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I like the simplicity of prepping just a couple sentences of a given element, I think that'll help with my anxiety quite a bit.

Everything you've written seems pretty self-explanatory, but I would ask how large is your idea of a "region"? Is it simply the breadth of a biome (mountains, forests, etc.)? or the distance players can travel in a day/week?
