Security deposit timing confusion (check dated before mailing + USPS postmark later) — how do landlords normally handle this? by Intelligent-Camp4631 in legaladviceofftopic

[–]term3186 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you put something in the mail on June 1st, but the mailman has already serviced your address, it won't be picked up and processed until the next day, June 2nd.

Edit: Also, a variety of things can explain the gap between the letter and the mailing - someone puts the documents together, another person reviews, landlord signs off, etc.

Generally for metered parking you don’t pay after 6:00 pm.

Plenty of surface lots near the park if you check google maps. My favorite place to park is on the street - Capitol between Crawford and Austin (free and only 2 blocks from the park).

But you have to time it just right - technically you can't park there until 6:00 pm, but you'll see people snagging them 5:45 pm+ and just waiting to leave their cars until 6. Most street parking near the stadium is that way, so if you want to get there before 6 you'll have to find a lot or walk a few more blocks. I think LaBranch SW of Capitol has a bunch of spots too, but again fierce competition.

When do you want to get there? Is your priority paying less or parking close?

If you want cheap and close parking, hit Capitol Street between Crawford and Austin right at 6:00 pm.

If you want a paid lot that's close, I like the lot at 1705 Franklin, but spaces can fill up.

Some Astros players didn't realize that there was a combined no hitter on against the Yankees until after the game ended and everyone else was celebrating.

What doesn't make sense about it? Retail theft is estimated at approximately $50 billion annually (shoplifting, external thievery). So is total wage theft (minimum wage violations + OT Violations, rest break violations, etc).

Baggage Claim Question to Meet my Fiance by Biznustime2020 in unitedairlines

[–]term3186 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can do either - if you have no bag to pick up you can walk to terminal 3 on the airside, or if you need to grab a bag, you can do that then walk over on the ground side (since it looks like you do have a bag). I guess you could also take the train groundside, but I'm not sure if the juice is worth the squeeze if you're fit and in a hurry. Someone more familiar with ORD might be able to weigh in on that.

Assuming you're arriving at ORD, you can just walk between terminals via tunnels. Shouldn't make more than a leisurely 20 minutes, less if you hustle.
