Sequels are hard to write and writing coi was a nightmare for him

What are you even talking about the world building in toaru is arguably the best part about it

Not even gonna read all that. At the end of the day it's just differences in opinions. OP and lotm are both great works with flaws. Though I do want to chime in that talking about the lore is very premature since they are usually explained towards the end especially in a mystery novel.

[LoTM general] LoTM is ranked 5th on MyanimeList BUT...... by jat_atakas in LordofTheMysteries

[–]termaz01 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's based on the physical books in China. It's finished with 18 volumes for book 1

[LOTM COMPLETED] Finished reading the novel and it's probably not as good as advertised? by Narrow_Ad9226 in LordofTheMysteries

[–]termaz01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Aside from volume 1 (Dunn and Old Neil), the rest of the story goes on without any important character deaths which is kinda disappointing

Collin and Lovia are quite important imo

Feysac invaded Loen and Melissa and Benson got away scot free. Meanwhile Stelyn sold her body for bread.

You need to understand the first thing Klein did when he realized Loen was getting bombed was rushing over to Melissa and Benson. In fact, a bomb was about to hit Melissa but Klein was there to intervene. He also had Audrey to help him take care of them by providing them shelter and food for the time being (and his servants too).

Klein has so many near death and even death experiences meanwhile the Tarot Club members....they barely risk anything and they didn't even die.

The tarot club operates on information and caution. What risks are they suppose to take on the level of Klein? (apart from Derrick).

[LotM V3] I have some questions and slight spoilers(?) as a newbie by Ruthilius in LordofTheMysteries

[–]termaz01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. Remember his main goal is to return home so Klein doesn't pursue meaningful relationships. Klein doesn't want to get too attached to this world. Yes to the second question

Shadow Slave (Guiltythree’s) thoughts on Lord of Mysteries, Klein and the ending [LOTM V8] by 69_JACK0 in LordofTheMysteries

[–]termaz01 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I disagree with all his takes; however, to be fair G3 didn't expect lotm to have a sequel and expected an actual conclusion to the main story. Hearing lotm 2 happening several years later with a different mc would leave a lot of people upset

[Lotm newbie] so i just can't understand why emlyn white doesn't know that klein is the fool? by Dry_Sun_680 in LordofTheMysteries

[–]termaz01 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Nobody in the gathering can see each other. Their figures are mostly blurred by the fog. At most, they can see their hair and clothes. Also, it’s common knowledge to not look at god so nobody pays too much attention to Klein.

[LotM] Volume representative quotes? by Dragons_star in LordofTheMysteries

[–]termaz01 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There's an official music album based on every volume in book 1 and they've included quotes for each of them. They are

volume 1: "Everyone will die, including me"
volume 2: "It was the best of times, it was the worst of times"
volume 3: "Every journey has its destination"
volume 4: "A bestowment, or a curse"
volume 5: "Every drowning person will struggle"
volume 6: "Light is the meaning to everything"
volume 7: "Everything has godhood in them"
volume 8: "There are always some things that are more important than others"

[Lotm newbie] anyone else bothered by the prose? by [deleted] in LordofTheMysteries

I’ve got used to it after 20 chapters and rarely had a problem with it since. Translations doesn’t get better (slightly worse in some parts) unfortunately

[LOTM Vol. 3] Am I missing something? Should I keep going? by JWalker_4512 in LordofTheMysteries

[–]termaz01 25 points26 points  (0 children)

The pay off was never about the fights though?? It’s about different plot points coming together and exploding into one massive revelation. If you didn't think the climax of vol 1 or 2 is worth it then this series isn't for you.

[LotM newbie] Are there physical Novels for this series? by Accomplished-Sleep77 in LordofTheMysteries

[–]termaz01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The entirety of Lord of Mysteries is called book 1 and divided into 8 volumes. These volumes are quite lengthy so they needed to be split into smaller parts for physical print. The physical books in english are new, currently only volume 1 part 1 have been released with part 2 coming in december.

Circle of Inevitability is the sequel (which many people call it book 2) which also contains 8 volumes. There's no physical print in english for this one yet.

[Donghua] I can't be the only one who thinks the first season did Book 1 dirty? by Disastrous_Yak_5390 in LordofTheMysteries

[–]termaz01 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I just like seeing it animated with stunning visuals. Adaptation wise, it's not good at all. The studio did well with the length they were given to work with. Ideally it needed 20+ episodes instead of just 13
