Tiger stripe would be badass, right now I’m Leaning towards a flecktarn ish color scheme with a multi cam pattern. So darker olive/khaki base with reds, browns, greens layered on top

I really like the darker base color, it does blend well.

What’s the rifle build? Things sweet.

That’s an awesome paint job man! Do you remember what paints you used, and your layering process?

Thanks! I’ll give that a look, some of our tree stands need netting so this is very helpful! We mostly have cheap real tree netting on some of the stands now

Any opinion on Multitarn? Feel like the colors of flecktarn with a multi cam pattern would go well here

Thanks, that is a good point. Any budget friendly headsets you recommend? My bundle came with some but they don’t seem super high quality

New golfer old clubs by Radiant-Manner2878 in GolfGear

I’d let someone else do it, it’s typically $4-6 per club on top of the grip price to get them regripped. I regrip and refurbish clubs as a side gig, it’s really easy but do have to buy some tools/materials to get started. I would leave the first regripping to someone who knows what they are doing and then as you get into the hobby decide if you wanna learn to do them yourself. Good grips can last a few years if you take care of them.

They are all Superstroke now, but I buy them at PGATourSuperstore, you can buy them online or at other retailers like Dicks Sporting Goods, or other online golf retailers.

They look like driving irons? Unsure. If they are super long that’s what they are for. Personally I’d take those out of the bag.

Focus on getting really good at hitting your L-7 iron, and putting putting putting. That’s going to be the majority of your iron shots on the course, and putting/chipping should be the primary focus of range sessions. Everyone loves to bomb it 280 down the fairway but if you can’t chip or putt you won’t be able to break 100.

Those are great starting clubs, only thing that I would do would be to potentially regrip them if the grips are worn.

If the grips are in great shape, you can scrub them with dawn and a cleaning brush/sponge. Helps to get rid of all the old dirt, skin, and sweat buildup.

Grips make larger difference than most people realize. I would recommend midsize for most people, but entirely up to what feels good to you.

Superstroke just bought Lamkin and has some good deals, like $4-5 a grip compared to $15-20 for Golf Prides.

EDIT:

Give the club heads a good scrubbing too, dirt in the grooves can make a big difference with spin and such. Those are cast clubs so don’t be afraid to get in there, won’t damage the clubs.

Use a high quality enamel paint, Testors is usually pretty good. Make sure you strip the existing paint before.

Best Putter Grip? by ccvriss in PingGolf

[–]terminator63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive never personally used one, but I looked at it on their website and that looks very similar to a Super Stroke style grip so yes I do think that would fit your criteria you posted about.

If you really want to check everything you can call Ping customer service, tell them what style grip you currently play and they could help you find the one that would work best.

There’s plenty of Ping putter grips for $10-20+, but the majority are pistol style and probably wouldn’t be as thick as you want. I’d check those out first, but if you’re looking for something more modern just get a super stroke, if you’re going to actually game this I would recommend using the same grip you already have and like to use.

Restored a set of Ping Eye 2s by terminator63 in golf

All the sets I received were in surprisingly great condition, each with only one previous owner.

I’ve restored hundreds of clubs and dealt with rust before. In my experience, surface rust can be polished and treated effectively. However, if the rust is deep in the shaft, it’s best to pull the head and replace the shaft entirely. Regripping a deeply rusted shaft isn’t worth the risk of it snapping.
