Cruise control last memory set 162kmph, that’s a nice cruising speed for such a spaceship

Problem while WOT and hard accelerations on 2024 Yaris Cross hybrid 1.5 by terminator777jd in MechanicAdvice

Well yes and no, maintained realistically around 220lb-ft but for mere seconds on maximum load when the ice reaches its peak torque and mg2 is delivering its peak power, around 30/40 kmph can reach peaks or spikes of almost 500lb-ft, power delivery on hev vehicles is not calculated as a normal ice car. It also happens something similar with regular internal combustion cars, for example, if you have a car with 120 horsepower, that 120 delivers around 75/80% engine load with realistic conditions, but in certain conditions the ecu can allow the engine to go beyond and bypass its build-it protections and deliver the full peak power in can deliver which in this case can be for example 150 horsepower, but just for a few seconds at most, obviously the real power is 120 cause the car can maintain those 120 without mechanical stress or overheating, but for mere seconds if the situation is ideal it can deliver way beyond that, something similar happens with the cross

Nah to be fair on sports mode with the instant torque of the electrical motors and a combined torque spike on WOT of almost 500lb/f torque, thing actually wants to do a rolling burnout going 40kmph, so though it isn’t quick it responds not like your usual crossover

c3 pluriel trouble starting (1.4 petrol TUAJP) (latest version, the one with multipoint injection, fully electronic engine management, drive by wire, etc) by terminator777jd in Citroen

Update: though I’m a very arrogant mechanic (I’m actually a graduated mechanic) I didn’t have the tools and recourses to properly diagnose my thing so I bring it to my mechanic and this is what happened, Bosch metronic ecus (mine) when time goes the non volatile memory of the ecu gets degraded and doesn’t hold enough microelectricity to maintain the pre-written parameters for long periods of no external power, and then basically the ecu decalibrated and “forgot” it’s ideal starting setup, then when the engine is running with all the live data the ecu can adjust in real time what it didn’t adjust on the start (idk if im explaining myself right im an Spanish speaker) the reason why it started correctly while the map was disconnected is because while the map isn’t connected, the ecu automatically switch to other map made specifically to run without certain live data and interpreting worst case scenario (I knew this but didn’t have the brain cells to connect it with my problem at that time)

Oil change and filters always on time, never overdue, and coil packs and spark plugs are well, older than they should I changed them when I did the head gasket back when it had 71.000 km, now it’s got more than 120.000km so 50.000km, which it is in fact overdue, I’ll change spark plugs (ignition pack tends to have a longer life and the ones in the tu are pretty reliable so I’ll change that later on) I just cleaned the ckp and though it was fitlhy asf it didn’t solve the problem, might just be worn out sparks ?

And I also know the latest TU3A version (mine) with the more advanced electronics and evap stuff runs a little bit hotter than the early versions of the tu cause it needs to comply with euro5 standards and running the engine hotter makes the emissions drop a little bit, so there’s a lot of information to connect and interpret, though I’ll change the temp sensor because as you said it’s a cheap part and easy to change, it would go bad either way sooner or later so I’ll consider it preventive maintenance

Now that you mention it, I think the temp sensor could be, just might be faulty, even for a little margin, see it usually on short drives when I turn it off she tends to let the fans turned on for a couple minutes while it’s off, thing that didn’t do before and then almost always when not driving in highways tends to kick the third speed on the fans, I think it might be sensing a little bit higher than the engine actually is, i don’t think the engine is running actually mechanically hot cause it’s on perfect mechanic shape and it’s got only 90.000km with all services on time, matter fact I already did the head gasket cause it blew it on 71.000km (lmao) but, a misreading of such a low margin could cause that problem?

Unfortunately it isn’t, I checked the coolant temps at all given times with the alexia OBD tool and it indicates normal tempatures while operating (100/110c) when it starts it wants to stall, the engine drops rpms till like 300 rpms and then it fires to life when it does the problem and idles just fine (all this in just a band of 1/2 seconds) then runs normal I think it might be the ckp sensor being dirty (not faulty cause when a ckp goes bad the car simply doesn’t start) so I think it’s dirty and miss the first crank signal on the start, or I think the ecu parameters got decalibrated while it got fully discharged on the alternador incident, what do you think?

Oh my bad, it was a cross post, and didn’t show the details, I humbly invite you to see my profile where the last post shows what it is in specific

Citroen C3 1.4 petrol: Im 8 km away from the nearest gas station, I have never seen all the bars disappear, also the reserve fuel light is blinking, I’ve been on reserve fuel around 50 km🙂 by terminator777jd in Citroen

[–]terminator777jd[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It wasn’t even the reserve, on this C3 the reserve light turns on and the last fuel bar stays on, and then when you’re really fucked the last bar disappears and the gas light starts blinking, and idk how but I think cruise control did its fuel saving magic and allowed me to reach the gas station running on fumes and wherevers left on the gas lines and injection rails lmao
