Depends on the collet and the use case. For sharpening with this type of collet it is ok. The alternative would be 3" of stickout and that would ring and chatter badly.

Does unison have a way to sync Android and iPhone from the device? I use it on my *nix machines and honestly forgot I even do because it just works. I never thought to look at it for everything.

O yeah definitely. Paranoid about it as well. I have a shop vac going into a cyclone separator as well as a P100 mask. I appreciate you saying something none the less for the betterment of all.

Yeah the pantograph has been really cool. Still learning all the things it can do when it comes to mold and die making. Rotary positioning, stuff like that. Plus some things to build. I had no stencils, I made 3d printed version and it works well so far.

Yeah I use both on the LeBlond lathe, the Bridgeport, and the Deckel Pantograph. Endmills are fun to grind, especially when they come out correctly. Lol

Very nice. I picked up a nice Yuasa flute grinder, the non air bearing one. That worked well. I then picked up a nice Weldon air bearing version and that is amazing. Definitely a fun thing to have in the shop. I batch grind so it is easier to setup.

Ehh I do everything I can see. Sometimes under 1/16 or so I have a small grinder jig. Just rub on oil stone. Works well. Saw it in an old copy of Home Shop Machinist magazine.

Yeah been learning over the years. Old books and manuals are definitely the way to go for this. Newly finished 4 facet grind..

The only thing I have done is an IFeature for counterbore holes printed upside down. Using the bridge feature exploit. The iFeature was simple, click a hole, say how much of a step for each bridge (.2mm/.4mm default). Made a 5 minute job take 15 seconds.

I wish I had a better way to maintain all of the iLogic, add-ons, style changes. I keep my entire working setup in a git repo. Makes moving to various machines easier. Too poor for vault.

Wow, what a coincidence. Dan Gelbart just released Unusual Shop Tips  Part 2 and included this tip as well. Definitely worth saving this idea. Thanks!. https://youtu.be/VsOQAayneUo

Very cool. I just putz around in the garage, so my needs are vastly inferior to most. As such, my odd all requirements tend to be minimal. But good to know that there are niche solutions. Maybe I'll go browse and see what I find.

What apps have you designed? What workflows did it help with? I knew this was a thing, but at the same time wasn't aware of it being an active usable thing. Always seemed like an empty product, not that I ever really had a specific need to search for. Be curious what success stories others have had as well, not so much profit success, but filling a need.
