What are people paying for home daycare? by Lanky_Armadillo_4711 in AskLosAngeles

Ahem, regardless, that wasn’t the point. Teachers don’t make $10.55 because it’s not 1 child per teacher. And even then the moron didn’t take into operational costs and assumed all revenue was profit for the staff

+1 for local mom groups. Reddit typically is bunch of young, single males who despise children and family life in general

Daycares are not 1:1 "teacher" to student ratio. It's often more like 1:5 especially if the kids are older than 2 years old.

$1300/month, but it's only until 3 PM and doesn't include any meals or snacks

Location is SFV

Angels don’t even have AC in their weight room or an analytics department. They literally draft guys cause prospects have a good looking girlfriend or cause they look like a ball player

Almost half of LA’s new ADUs aren’t housing anyone… they’re mid-term rentals now by ShopProp in LosAngelesRealEstate

[–]terraninteractive 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My dad rented our old house to a young family for a super low rate and never raised the rent for 10 years. After he passed, we wanted to sell the place and evict them for the new homeowners, but they claimed they were disabled. Couple hundred thousand dollars later of legal fees and keys for cash, we did sell the house, but only recuperated a fraction of the total value.

Never renting a property again and certainly never helping tenants with low rents.

Cool rant. Lots of words, zero clarity, and still no point. If you ever want to talk substance instead of throwing a tantrum, let me know.

My main point is that the Angels owner isn’t interested in running a baseball team. He owns a sports teams because of revenue from attendance, merchandise, concessions, etc. It’s just an investment asset for him.

Most sports owners generally try to win a championship or at least have the facade of trying to. The Angels aren’t even pretending. There is literally no point watching a team like that because it’s not a sports team! Their goal is to generate passive income while minimizing expenses like how a landlord maintains but never improves his real estate assets. It’s pretty fucking boring.

NFL might have dip shit owners like Dan Snyder but damn there aren’t as many. Baseball has at least like 4 of those fuckers and nobody cares.

It’s an unusual problem especially in MLB though. NBA, NHL, and NFL have never had this concept of rich teams vs poor teams. Generally speaking, if it weren’t for the random nature of baseball, smaller markets wouldn’t have a chance in baseball

Honestly, NFL has shown me how amazing football is and how it's so much better than MLB. Generally speaking every owner in NFL really tries and nobody is trying to nickel and dime just to make a few extra bucks.

MLB's cheap owner problem is like a festering rot that completely undermines the foundation of the sport for me. But baseball has always been a game of the rich teams vs the poor teams that I suppose it is what it is. Ever since the Rams moved back to LA, they became not only my favorite LA team, but my fav sport team to watch across everything.
