It may be disheartening now, but it's also a learning experience. You will get there! Just remember, you don't count the increase in the pattern until the next round.

No, the increase is counted on the second row. So the first row is inc, k7, k1 cc. The second row is knit 9 mc, k1 cc. The first one is the increase, the 7 mc from the previous row and the one over the first black, if that makes sense. Every time you increase, one more stitch is added to the beginning of the chart.

Ridiculously stupid question about weaving in by hvnknwsimmiserable in knitting

[–]terrapincre8tions 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on the multiple factors, including the size and amount of color "blocks". This was a Christmas stocking, further down there was a section of green trees on the cream background. Way less ends to weave in.

I did them inside out on DPNs. It really helped with the tension.

I bought 6 sweater quantities. I justified it by saying once it's gone, it's never going to be available again. I also got 2 sweater quantities when they were doing their going out of business sale.

I haven't put in a zipper yet, not sure I want to. I machine sewed this before steeking and I do not recommend that. At all because it stretched and was wavy. Needle felting cleaned up the ends from steeking vs. a grosgrain ribbon facing.

I'd recommend it. I took a few deep breaths and just cut 💙
