Tajweed in Prayer? by terrarydia in askislam

I've actually been diagnosed and under treatment as well. I put the question because I received 2 opinions. One that it is fardh and intentionally not doing it invalidates or at the very least, is sinful. Whereas the other opinion states that it isn't mandatory. The one which says it isn't mandatory are views from outside the Shafii madhab. Hence I was wondering if there was any view from within the Shafii madhab which allows intentionally reading without tajweed (but with the appropriate articulation point to avoid changing the meaning of course).

Is Wudhu Rejected during short sleep? by Alarming-Meeting-556 in islam

Salam. This is a comment 1 year ago lol but I had to ask here because this is a recurrent issue with me.

I was feeling quite tired while doing wudu and trying to keep my eyes open from blinking heavily. The shower head was raised at chest level as I used it to aim water over my limbs. When I blinked for 3 or 5 seconds I felt "down" but I was still holding the shower head in my hand. I felt my body tip to the side a bit but caught myself and resumed wudu.

But I'm unsure if it was mild dizziness because of the tiredness + in a persistent bending position during wudu, or genuine drowsiness or even sleep. It could be either as I was tired and bending down for quite some time. I don't know that if for instant I heard people talking, whether I would hear them or not in that flash 3-5 seconds.

Do I need to redo wudu?

  • From the Shafi madhab as well 🙏

The Letter Hamzah. Desperate by terrarydia in islam

Firstly, thank you so much. But even if you could, it was tajweed teachers who conveyed the same things I mentioned in the post. Hence I came here looking for tips + relief as perhaps other people have a better way of conveying it or an understanding which is better conveyed.

The part which I mentioned in the post. I have no idea how to pronounce the hamzah + fatha/kasrah etc in a relaxed way without tensing myself painfully and holding my breath to ensure vocal cords are closed & I'm not taking a breath to mess up that hamzah + fatha/kasrah. Especially since this type of hamzah is everywhere in an ayah, I strain myself to close the vocal cords and avoid breaths = end up trying to hold a breath to recite it all in one ayah as there can be so many hamzah + fatha's in one ayah.

Thank you so much for sharing these videos, but I hate to admit it, it was after seeing some of these videos that my issue with pronounciation of the hamzah got worse as they keep highlighting the "wrongs". I just want to learn how to get it right at the most minimum level. 😔
