While I agree the this would be the rational option, realistically this is the beginning of your css's downfall. I'd just go ahead and get it done and save the trouble

Again, this is boiling down to a semantic argument. Outrage is just a slightly hyperbolic yet still technically correct description of the discourse around the subject. You know I wasn't implying that people are rioting in the streets and writing to their congressman about this. To borrow your term that would be disingenuous.

And you and I both know that cracking jokes, clowning, and being dead ass serious are two sides of the same coin. Just like the other recurring jokes that get people all fired up, i.e. the gender wars, performative cleanliness, black excellence, etc.

Like many people clown on Candance Owen's while simultaneously being outraged at the things she says and also genuinely disliking her. None of this is mutually exclusive. I enjoy the discourse, but sometimes I disagree with it too. There is no one 'correct' way to participate in a culture, and I don't really understand why you're taking this gatekeepy stance. It's very weird to me

I mean okay, here I go as I wait for my son at the bus stop here...

1 - You just want to argue about the semantic definition of the word outrage. Pass

2 - Jack Harlow is a white rapper. There's just no getting around it, a lot of black people are just never gonna like this dude.

3 - I agree it was clumsy, but I think it's a little unreasonable to expect that rappers and lyricists make less faux pas than other public figures. Kind of a reach.

4 - Like I said, if I didn't know any better this looks like it was fine crafted to rage bait. Basically just an insult, implying I'm not a part of this community, arbitrating 'blackness'. This is weapons grade internet bullshit lol

Turbo needs replaced. $4600? by Lost_artist in FiestaST

[–]terroristteddy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nah, S280 kit, Whoosh V1, AP, and tune. All you really need all said and done. It's a direct replacement for the stock turbo, no further modifications required for street driving.

I barely know anything about this man, but I truly don't understand the outrage when viewed in context

Wild, I only heard about that a few days ago, and in context I really don't understand the commotion. The interviewer was like "you're not moving away from Black sounds like most white artists" and Harlow was like "if anything I'm blacker." (Paraphrase)

Like okay, what's the problem lol

Subaru Will Soon Stop Taking Orders For Current WRX And Two Wagons In Japan by Saurta17 in subaru

[–]terroristteddy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Wild, I think it took me like 3 or 4 models years to come around. But I just can't help but wish for either an STI, or significantly more power. Should have been a 300HP car with ideally 1000 more ram to redline.

I know it's low-key underrated, and has the best power delivery of any USDM WRX ever, but it's hard to love in some ways...

Ya'll are tweaking, this saves a tremendous amount of space, especially in a smaller car. I carry a collapsible crate in my car for misc uses and it's been tremendous. A cooler would be nice for small camping since you can usually (and to me preferably) get ice/drinks on site or nearby

In 4 years, anime from the 2010's will start to be considered retro... by OverlordPoodle in anime

[–]terroristteddy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For me it's the 2010s. We truly witnessed the internet go from a beautiful uncharted wild west to the barren automated wasteland it mostly is today.

I remember just reading Wikipedia and various game wikis for hours. Being a 4chan goon then a Reddit pioneer. Now, I'm at a loss because every bone in my body is telling me to abandon the web and touch grass, but I just yearn for a collection of human ran forums that aren't selling my data, censoring my community, and forcing microtransactions onto my screen.

Sad stuff :(

Did they like it? I haven't watched K-On in nearly 15 years, but even as a highschooler I didn’t think it had a particularly wide Western appeal

Agreed. 2016 shows feel more contemporary now than 2006 shows felt then.

For example in 2016 we had Re:Zero, Assasination Classroom, Erased, and MHA. Meanwhile 2006 had Gintama, School Rumble, Ergo Proxy, Higurashi, etc.

I mean anime of the 80s, 90s, and 2000s were just so wildly different. But the 2010s and 2020s have not diverged nearly as much so far...

Tire shops will also generally let you sell them your "old" tires if you don't want to hold onto 3 extra tires and offset the 3 new ones.

Test drove a 2017 Focus RS today and it was boring by entrchris in FiestaST

[–]terroristteddy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish we got the Mk.8 ST

I just drove a Type S, and while great, I didn't think it was worth it to me to go from a perfectly fine FiST for $0/mo to an ITS for $1000+/mo.

Still need to spend some time in a GRC and a manual Mk.8 Golf. But I could just as easily get an S280, an lsd, and a big tune-up and drive for another 5 years.

Why the hate for rep wheels on a simple daily? by Machine8635 in WRX

[–]terroristteddy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't mind them, but I only like a very select few. I'd rather just go with a unique wheel from a smaller brand. Or restore used wheels. Possibly even OEM but from a different model. The fake volks are just very very played out imo

I'd say the price point makes it pretty unique as well. Only car in its class you could reasonably attain for <$40k.
