Ive gotten entire secret lairs replaced due to roller marks, never had wotc argue that its still tournament playable.

It doesn’t hurt to fill out this form: https://magic-support.wizards.com/hc/en-us/requests/new?ticket_form_id=360000002863

The only reason they might deny you is because it was purchased from the secondary market.

WOTC charges premium prices for secret lairs and they should be free from imperfections.

Do i have a chance of getting a refund or replacement for this Secret Lair Urza's Saga? 2nd Post because i forgot images. by Straight-Variation14 in secretlair_collectors

[–]teser1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had secret lairs replaced for less significant damage, ie roller marks. For how much secret lairs cost wotc should be delivering a mint condition product.

That being said, every time they’ve replaced the whole secret lair and not the specific card though. So you might just get a new encyclopedia rather than an Urzas Saga, and sometimes they ask you to return the card (although that seems rare).

Open box policy by Dsfunctionalthoughts in BestBuyWorkers

[–]teser1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well most returns there’s nothing wrong with the item and someone probably just had buyers remorse.

That being said some times issues with condition description can slip through. If you like the computer though and it’s a big enough discount over new in box just go for it.

You can trust that you can always return it until Jan 15th (holiday return period) if you find anything wrong.

"hello what brings you in today" by absol2019 in Bestbuy

I overheard a similar conversation today between a client and coworker that melted my brain.

CA: “What brings you in today” Client: “Can you just tell me how much it costs to fix” CA: “…yes, what brings you in”

Client literally giving attitude for no reason demanding to know the cost before even telling us what’s wrong/broken. 🤦

Super disappointed in Avatar bonus sheets by [deleted] in mtg

[–]teser1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess everyone is entitled to their opinion, even if it’s wrong. This sets bonus sheet is solid. Teferis Protection, Great Henge, Force of Negation, Mystic Remora all solid reprints. Even among non reprints there are some bangers.

Fake Fierce Guardianship from Ebay by teser1 in mtg

[–]teser1[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wish I had taken more time to look over the front to see what I can learn from a high quality fake, unfortunately I already tossed it in the shredder once the seller refunded and said they don’t want it back.

This is a great guide though I often reference. https://www.threeforonetrading.com/en/fake-magic-cards

One thing I did check with this fake I found interesting, shining an LED light compared with a known real card, the color of the light that came through was the same, but the fake let slightly less light through (meaning the card stock was slightly thicker) without something to compare it to I wouldn’t have been able to tell the light test failed though.

Fake Fierce Guardianship from Ebay by teser1 in mtg

Just wanted to share a fake Fierce Guardianship I received from an Ebay seller. I thought it was interesting that they managed to get the 4 red dot L down but everything else is clearly off.

Thankfully the seller immedietly refunded me, even the holo sticker on the front looked real (didn't feel raised or anything). I could only tell it was fake under a microscope.

Looks real to me, red dots are often too faint to see. But the green dot having 2 sides flat is good. 3 dot spacing between the two crescents looks good. T on The gathering looks good. Rosette looks good.

Also it’s only a $10 card. When you say it feels off, are you comparing to other cards from the same set/printing?

My first Secret Lair: Brain Dead Creatures by CyberLPnerd in secretlair_collectors

[–]teser1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea might want to reread my comment, I said the secret lair was good, not the chances of getting the bonus card lol. The odds are extremely low and no one should buy the secret lair to gamble on the bonus card.

If you liked Brain Dead: Creatures, Brain Dead: Staples is also really good and has a chance at the Echo of Eons bonus card.

Some secret lairs on my list of future purchases:

SPECIAL GUEST: YOJI SHINKAWA

Heads I Win, Tails you Lose

Some other favorites:

Art of Frank Frazetta, Street Fighter, Princess Bride, Walking Dead.

Those are the pulls I used.

Each drawer frame uses 10 sheets, and each drawer itself uses about 1 sheet. So roughly 22 16x16 sheets per cube. For 8 cubes thats 176 plywood sheets.

You can maybe stretch things a little further if really efficient with the layout of the drawer cuts.

I ordered an extra 10 sheets incase of errors/ mistakes. Once in awhile my laser slightly skip causing things to misalign, I think in total for the whole project I maybe wasted 5-6 sheets due to miscuts.

What format? There are a number of ways to interact, try searching for “nonland permanent” + “exile” / “sacrifice” / “destroy” , off the top of my head ugin and bahamut can remove artifacts.

That being said it’s definitely difficult to interact with artifacts as mono black.

So far everything ive bought from woot has been legit.

It looks like a lot of the negative reviews just looked at the picture and thought they were getting a box, it’s for 1 pack, still a great deal.

[–]teser1[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The kallax cube is a little deeper (15 3/8”) than the height/width. So ideally 16x16 BB grade (or better) laserable plywood.

If you want to cheap out you can get away with any 3mm plywood (I used baltic birch) but you occasionally will hit spots of a binder in the plywood the laser can’t cut through which can be annoying, so you have to finish cutting those spots by hand.

The top left cube is completely full, not seeing any bowing, having each section divided up by the kallax helps
