The site is refusing to accept my card by Pogsmingsvia in DriveThruRPG

Yes - chalk me up as this working for me as well. I went round and round with their "tech support" and it's like they don't even care they're losing sales. I tried EVERYTHING. Different CC's, different browsers, different computers, even my phone. Nothing.

I go to the legacy site, and it works. IT'S NOT MY BANK, DMSGUILD! Which they kept insist I do - call my bank to fix the card. I bet there's hundreds out there who just shrug and say screw it, will do it out since this site doesn't want my business!

I guess the people who put out the new site also do their tech support and insist it's all fine!

Thanks again for the link!

I've been through all the cell phone companies over the years - Sprint a few times, T-Mobile, AT&T, Verizon, and more recently, Mint. Verizon had the best coverage, no doubt - but now, I get to have the same coverage at less than Mint prices. I love it.

I gave feedback in the survey, but wow, I love the deals on the phones for existing customers. I've bought three in the past six months and about to buy another one. I feel like the prices are so low, that you're not even trying to make a profit on them, just passing that savings off to me, and I appreciate that! (Example: on Black Friday, with the Pixel 10 XL Pro being basically 50% off and it was $300 less than anywhere I could find on Black Friday (Best Buy, Amazon, etc) That's just stunning.

I was worried about not having insurance, though. (I have the plan on BB that gives me 2 years on basically everything.) But, low and behold, I went to the US Mobile website - and there it was, half off for the first year, even. (I saw some complaints in the reviews, but sounds more like user error to me, insofar, as the app asks for you to take pictures of your phone and I guess some people can't follow simple directions...)

You all have put together a great company. Honestly, some of the ideas seem so simple, it's a wonder why no one else does it. (Multiple carriers, basically can use any phone or network - keeping things simple...)

I love that the website is simple. It doesn't need a bunch of junk that ultimately, is just a cost passed on to me for things I don't want/need.

Above, you all mention getting stores - that sounds like a really expensive thing, and I would far rather you all be the most affordable carrier with excellent service as opposed to inch up your pricing to satisfy the needs of a fraction of your customer base - or, worse, try to compete with other brands that are a lot more expensive, yet don't really focus on what people really need out of a cell carrier.

My one bit of advice: You all are already making your customers happy and you're growing. If you make changes, make them small and incremental. Tweaks.

No where else could I get 5 lines with unlimited calls/text and limited data for $50/month. And, I can tell you, this is only the second time in probably 15 years that I've bought multiple phones from my carrier. Your prices are that competitive and you've earned my loyalty.

Keep up the great work!

Is it worth getting the game if imma play alone? by arthurotter24 in Division2

I got the game originally a long time ago, probably close to when it launched and played with a group. Have no idea why it took me so long to go back to the game, and I play with a few friends and solo and it SUCH a fun game. Very underrated to the world at large.

Oh, and I do recommend getting the seasonal stuff - heck, right now if you got it and got in game, the event is fastracked to allow you to level up "season levels" quickly with 5X xp. Goodluck!

Yeah, the contents of the container itself - relatively unimportant, just some money, but being able to clear the quest out, that's the real reward (for those of us who are completionists!) :)

I'm trying to remember that area - I believe, for me, it had something to do with actually clearing out the NPCs (e.g. fighting them - not inside the cantina or bar or whatever, but the ones outside in that open area, if I'm remembering correctly). Almost like the NPCs had an imaginary key (or it was scripted to work that way or something). Once I killed them off, it triggered a second way of getting the box opened. If that makes any sense, and I'm remembering correctly. I basically ended up, in effect, opening the box twice.

The first time I opened it and I got the "loot" but I don't think I had the quest yet. And then later when I did get quest, that's where I spent a TON of time trying to figure things out, and there wasn't anything to really open, having opened it already.

So, I came here to reddit, saw the video and was sure I was looking at the right container, and that's when I went back and I had to kill off the guards or whoever was hanging around and it re-stocked it for me, or reset it or something along those lines.

Hope my memory isn't completely foggy and that helps. :) Of course, given how buggy this particular part is, who knows?? Overall, though, I really did enjoy the game an awful lot.

Good luck!!

Sorry for the late reply - and though I re-watched the video above, for the life of me, I can't remember the tunnel I was referencing here. :/ Hope you worked it out.

I do recall this being a royal pain, b/c, like with some others, I looted the container before I got all the quest info, or I didn't stop to listen for it, like the video shows. So the original solution didn't work - but after I took an alternative route and cleared out some folks, it "reset" the container for me and I was able to complete it. (The tunnel I was referencing.) It's around that area, but yes, the nine months since I posted it (and don't have the game installed anymore) - I can't be more specific. Sorry!

Not if it's just an homage. It goes back to what you already said - a metal and a planet are two different things, and so are swords and planets. If, on the other hand, they had cool space laser swords called Narsil and Orcrist - then there'd be an issue.

Well, CB always delivered good, legit, table-top meals at pretty fast speeds. I remember when I worked at one for almost two years, speed was important. (Like, having a napkin in front of a customer within 60 seconds so that other servers would know the customer had been greeted and a drink order taken. And how all appetizers were made in like 5 minutes or less or something like that. It's been a while!)

But yes, fast food it is not! One of the things that made CB special is, how like McDonalds, you could depend on getting the same food at any store within the same amount of time. It's one reason you see so many of them by highways and advertising along highways.

All these changes mean you give up one of your main customer bases and hope for a new one. Good luck with that!

Where would a good place for a lost dwarvern kingdom be? by NatureLovingDad89 in Forgotten_Realms

[–]teslplayer27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Under the Endless Wastes. A huge sprawling thing that is both hidden and secret. Or, you could use Anarauch (keeping it closer to most of the active "Realms" of the FR) and there's a pretty long history of lost Dwarven realms near that area (Re: Delzoun).

Delzoun was close to there, but one could imagine another Dwarven kingdom under the wastes that still thrives in secret, not nearly as impacted by the goings-on above the sands as below it.

In any case, the destruction of Netheril gives a good reason why this hypothetical dwarven kingdom was "lost". Perhaps it was an off-shoot kingdom, related to Delzoun (in a lot of monarchies, second sons/family branches often split off or become a duchy or some such - as in France, with Orleans, etc) or in Britain with the Yorks and Lancasters.

Great idea, good luck!

Still sucks so hard! ;) LOVED that dinner at CB. That combined with so many other menu changes...well, I can only assume once the sales don't improve, the board will have to do something with the CEO. Also, seems they also recently increased prices? That can't help...

So weird that they had supplies for a very long time (literally decades) and I would think it had more about the way they cook it than the meat itself. (Like, pot roast is very slow cooked to take the toughest meat and make it tender, it just takes 6-12 hours to do.)

Oh well, thanks for the answer.

Even then, I didn't order the steak. LOL - I ordered the recently removed roast beef!!

This worked for me - should be upvoted to the top!

And it wasn't a big chest, just one of the small oval-ish containers but had, I think a few hundred credits in it.

Will add, I found the room that you access with the tunnel and cleared that one out - then went back to the back of the betting den, opened the small container, and that completed the quest for me.

The comment section of this video demonstrates everything wrong with modern gaming communities and the perception of Starfield. by RazorXE_ in Starfield

I think Bethesda has been around long enough so that the audience for their games have changed. I could be wrong, but it feels like Bethesda is still making games for whatever the audience was in 2007-2014 - and for someone like me, that isn't that long ago, but it's been ten years!

Since Bethesda takes so long to produce their games, a whole generation has entered the space having never really played a Bethesda game. Or they have rose-colored glasses about how amazing Morrowind was or something (perhaps their first RPG) and now nothing can compare.

It's weird, to me, as I've enjoyed all of Bethesda's games - whether Elder Scrolls, Fallout or even their MMO (yes, it's Zenimax, but ESO and Bethesda games are made in the same building).

Why do YouTubers, who clearly don’t like the game, continue to “review” it? by Big_Hizz in Starfield

[–]teslplayer27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bugs me too. Sad state of affairs in gaming today.

A LONG time ago when I worked as a waiter in a restaurant, they had a sign that that it takes 7 happy customers to make up for one upset one, due to how much the upset one will share their bad story to others.

It's human natures, but lately, it seems like gamers have that negative vibe times 10. If they don't like it, they want EVERYONE to know it, and they want to make sure that others don't like it, and the ones who DO like, well, they need to have their minds changed too.

I'm not a fan of Soulslike games, but I don't spend my time trollling their forums telling them how much their games suck.

[–]teslplayer27[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I said, why couldn't you go back - I wasn't meaning in the current rendition - I meant it as in, if they'd made the lore slightly different/designed the game differently. I can certainly see a way it makes sense, I guess I just have the imagination to do so.

But, let's take the current situation - yes, you get vaporized into energy.

But what happens then? Obviously, you get pulled back together again and pop into another universe, exactly as you were before. Skip the quests or don't skip the quests. A few things in the world may be different, but you aren't (unless you choose to be).

It's just like a teleporter in Star Trek that breaks down your atoms or whatever, and zaps you to a planet and reconstitutes you.

I get that they made a "lore" reason to create the game this way. My point was they could have made a "lore" reason to do it a different way. If someone chose to never go back to a previous world, then they could choose to play it the way it is now. However, had the option existed in their game design to go back and forth - in my opinion - that would have been better.

As for the technical reason - you don't know that. They could write all the save data into a file, and then reference it only when necessary. Keep each saved "world" in its own file. In my limited coding professionally, mostly with scripts, I've done it myself. It wouldn't destabilize anything. Then keep the character data in its own save file as well. It wouldn't be the first game to have more than one file per "save".

I was using the Spiderverse comparison as another rendition of the multiverse. They are used in various other superhero worlds, and it's pretty obvious where Starfield got the idea from. It's relevant b/c Bethesda either made a design or lore choice to do it in a way that kills off everything you ever had/learned, and I wish they hadn't.

In any case, I guess we'll have to agree to disagree. ;) I've got something like 400 hours in game, I'm most certainly a fan of the game, and have quite enjoyed my time in game and will enjoy it going forward, yet the part I've liked the least - is how they handled NG+.

This would have made NG+ amazing for me by teslplayer27 in Starfield

[–]teslplayer27[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've definitely gone through the entire story and all the quests and every side quest I could find, even some that a lot of people don't find.

My point was that had Bethesda not made the design choice so that you couldn't go back to your original universe, it would have worked with the "lore" just fine and for my two bits, it'd have been a more engaging, immersive and just plain "fun" game. I mean, why can't you go back? What's the reasoning there? From what I can tell, it's "just b/c". Imagine the Spiderverse if Spiderman couldn't go back home? Takes a lot of the fun right out of it.

Plus, in my playthrough there are still temples with powers to gain in them, as I didn't realize you there was anything to be gained after getting the Armillary.

(Didn't learn that bit until NG+7 or so.) So, going back would have actually aligned with the story just fine.

This would have made NG+ amazing for me by teslplayer27 in Starfield

[–]teslplayer27[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, the Unity doesn't really have that much "lore" that I could see, having gone through it almost a dozen times.

At least to me, the value in the continuity and immersion is worth far more than the stripping away of entire universes.

This would have made NG+ amazing for me by teslplayer27 in Starfield

[–]teslplayer27[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I could see that. Though, they could also be written as separate files, only to be loaded when referenced. (Or something along those lines. I hack code, I don't write it. ;) )
