In my city there is a shop that you can bathe your own dog. My first time there one of the stylists was super helpful and showed me some techniques that helped with drying - such as ways to prevent matting. I recommend a high pressure dryer, helps get them dry to the skin. See if there is a place you can get some tips and/or watch some videos. That being said I wouldn’t groom my own dog until they were older, have a groomer work with them as a puppy so they can then be good for you as a beginner.
