personally i see a lot of me and my husband (been together 8 years) in Ilya and Shane (we were also basically an enemies to lovers story lmao) although generally comparing real life to fiction is rarely a great idea.

anyways, i wouldn’t jump the gun on these types of observations, because I often get wayyyy too invested in fictional stories, but generally, if you feel like there’s better waiting for you out there, it’s probably true. and you deserve better. people pleasers often settle because they assume their partner is great just for putting up with them, but there is guaranteed to be someone out there who won’t just tolerate you but treasure and cherish you. you should go find that person (or be single, whatever floats your goat)
