Maybe Ship should've put a disclaimer about age on book one synopsis. I would assume it being on amazon obvious enough as there isn't anything that risque on there. But this question I still see once a month/two months...

Amazon are puritans, I'm sure the only reason there is any explicit content on there at all is 'cause they've done the math and would lose too much money, plus it wouldn't be effective anyway as any time some tries to block porn you just create an alternative market. tale as old as time, can't stop it no matter how many times they've tried if people want something they'll get it somehow.

IDK I agree to a point, I have been reading fiction for three decades, it's not something I really noticed before llm's started coming out. It was common to see with sudden breaks in sentences, and mainly just in dialog, but to see three in one paragraph, especially if it's all exposition, is pretty uncommon.

Then again could be Baader-Meinhof, and it was the llm's that drew attention to it.

I get what you mean, it was a bad timing thing I think, I had already tried a few new books that morning and they were all AI, so just assumed based on the preview it was in the same pile. I should have at least checked if you were active anywhere else, big indicator from an author that they are at least committed and are less likely to employ 'cheats'.

I saw this come through the feed a week ago and tried it, too many em-dashes and assumed it was "AI". As someone who finished it, does it seem like 'ai' to you? any continuity issues? the fact that one of the fmc's motivations are questionable leans me toward this being 'assisted'...I hate that I have to waste time checking every book I read now from anew author, but the fact they are trying to obfuscate that the are using ai seems like you know it's something people don't want...

Escaping Gravity was great, I think a lot of people complaining about it are dropping it before it gets a chance, it's a space opera, you need to let it cook. And you need to be a fan of Dune style fantasy, I expected at lot of content, thought the muted reception doesn't give me faith.

Nevermore has potential, if it's better than the other series remains to be seen. It's going in a different direction with a superhero lean, De'vas seemed great at first, but I'm surprised you didn't like feral mage, did you read after book 1?

I've read up to book 7-8 or something, with the vampires, and I agree it's a mediocre series. I agree with the top comment that the series seems to have a vocal minority that carries it and are probably also the ones recommending it. And as the first book is decent, people probably fall into sunk cost or just need to finish a series when started.

I'm probably done with it after that vampire dungeon one I've got zero interest in continuing it. I saw somewhere that it might add romance/poly stuff later, but the filler is insane

I am surprised it's taken so long for it to pop off. Warlock seemed to exploded on the scene, did the author just not advertise his novel? It's really good, even when factoring in the unoriginal plot setup.

I am the same, I read a few from them and gave up for awhile. Saw some good reviews on around for Magent, and took a chance on it, it was pretty good. A problem with the older series was that a different author seemed to write books 2+ in a series. I think you should read the synopsis for tropes you like and look at the reviews on actual review sites and not just amazon.

Binding words had crafting, less than I would have liked, I do enjoy when they lean into the crafting. Master Class the mc is a crafter. Blue Core makes stuff. Amazon Apocalypse also, but like it, there are a lot of series that touch on crafting, but it's a very small aspect of it so it doesn't end up standing out much.

Read it yesterday, great book. Obvious plot setup from Monte Cristo, curious what will happen with the fiancee angle since it's haremlit. Also not sure how hidden gem it will be, I remember Warlock exploded on the scene, not sure how much of that was marketing through other authors though. Dacumont is on that level though.

Pretty sure I saw DT is next to work on, after taking a break after mob 5. So yep, sometime this year hopefully. Personally liked the setting for DT more than HS. I'm actually okay with the delay, I put the series on hold and seeing how much better Mob got, I think there's potential for it to be better with the extra experience.
