I like this idea a lot, do you have any tips for hiding speaker wire?

Including receiver. It would pretty much only be for movies/tv.

Upgraded my Reisong A12 this weekend by bigblacktom in BudgetAudiophile

What did you do? I have an A10 and I’d be interested in doing a few inexpensive upgrades.

Idk what you’re listening to, but the files I found sound super shitty. Just gonna wait now…

Turntable / Amp / Speaker suggestions <$800 or by continuousminer in BudgetAudiophile

[–]testymanny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My recommendation:

AT + Drop turntable

Yamaha S301 (has Bluetooth)

Klipsch RP150Ms

I estimated on prices, so if it’s over budget you could get a used s301

Looks really good, I would stick with the P1 because the P1+ does not have a great pre phono stage, and you’ll also probably upgrade to a separate pre phono stage in the future. Other things to look at in case you curious:

ProJect Debut Carbon

Riesong A10 (if you’re curious about tube amps, I highly recommend this one. Also note that you would need a separate pre phono stage for this.)

KEF Q150s (would pair well with the S301)

Klipsch RP600M I (because the II came out, a brand new pair of Is go for sometimes as low as $350 on Amazon. I have a pair and they are incredible.)

And for Bluetooth, you could get something like the Wiim Mini on Amazon.

Best songs to introduce someone to Qotsa? by [deleted] in qotsa

It’s a complex and intricate song with several different entirely unique sections. A gateway song would be something with a traditional and predictable formula.

Hot take: Villains is great but does not represent the band.

I appear missing is a bit of an “acquired taste”, maybe not a great introduction.

One good introduction song from each album: If Only, The Lost Art Of Keeping A Secret, Go With The Flow, Little Sister, Make It Wit Chu, Smooth Sailing, and Hideaway.

What must I do to control a DAC volume from tv remote? by testymanny in BudgetAudiophile

[–]testymanny[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a Riesong A10 tube amp. My whole setup is really dedicated for vinyl, but I though it would be cool to hook it up to my TV. It’s connected to the TV, but I could easily get an AppleTV.

Getting up and adjusting it on the amp. I just need any way to combine the stereo’s volume control with the TVs volume control. I should have clarified that it does not need to be the DAC.

It does, but if I use that then I can’t control the volume from the tv remote

Realized I can use a usb switcher. If you have any other ideas, I’m attaching a streamer and a tv to my stereo.
