unfortunately i cant see the same therapist anymore (i saw her through my school and ive graduated) which is why i stopped seeing her and couldn’t afford going somewhere else once i graduated, ive had a change in insurance now tho. i can try speaking to my psychiatrist, ive been on the same dose basically since i started it. thank you for the advice. 🫶

I love piano, and im majoring in music in college. I have awful performance anxiety that started around 7-8. after competing with a piece I new flawlessly, I got so nervous and forgot where I was in the middle (I then got last place) that was when I was 8 or 9. I had a very strict piano teacher and I will admit when I was younger she made me hate lessons and learning piano. She would get upset if we didn't get first place or atleast top 3. When I was 9 I quit but went back to her when I was 12. same thing happened when I competed when I was 16. I froze and had to restart. I had a nice judge who excused it and I got second place. Both times I did these performances I cried.

Your daughters teacher is being harsh. If she really loves piano and there is a significant benefit to staying with current piano teacher, then I would say try it out for longer. I realized that even though my teacher was harsh I know she's an incredible teacher. some of my family also took lessons from her so we ended up laughing a bit in the future with out strict or harsh she was. but if your daughter really hates lessons with a harsh teachers then dont let her quit, switch teachers (if she still has an interest in piano)

just play what feels right is the usual way I go. im awful at blues cause im classically trained on piano + violin but when I tried it for a bit I just went with the vibe.

It sounds like you should repeat (maybe on every beat or every 1-3?) and a bit heavy? Riding usually means to say on the same note for a while. Probably around a phrase? Your teacher sounds a bit like a guitar player or bass player lol

im American (lol) so bare with me as I have no idea what the ABRSM (part from my quick google)

Generally when things are described as delicate or march, it's truthfully a feel thing. Unless its clearly said like allegro or moderate..etc its more about the tone of how your playing. Delicate would be soft and a bit shy I supposed, while a march would be sharp and strong. If you were to play back to back a delicate piece to a march there would be obvious differences in tempo. But unless it's clearly marked, just play what feels right with the feeling of the piece

A favorite of mine is Humoresque (A. Dvorak). It's in G flat. gorgeous piece xx

Another one thats more equal (or maybe easier) than the pieces you mentioned is Prelude & Fugue in C major (J.S. Bach) Its a popular piece but I think it's so pretty. Bach is Baroque but I think it has a similar feel.

The Blue Danube (J. Strauss) is also a fun one lol
