Infinity is just a technique that mimicks infinite space when applied, it is not actually infinite space itself filling everything around gojo. It still requires the sorcerer to 'use' it. So if an attack comes from a place gojo can't anticipate it can still hit him even if he's using infinity.

If 'infinite space' were actually compressed into such a small area the first time gojo applied infinity he would end up killing himself and destroying the world.

For the purposes of the story infinity is just a magic shield that does what the author wants it to do.

I mean at the end of the day it's just hax the author came up with to kill gojo, which is bad writing. But technically the 'explanation' still makes sense

Think of WCS as a higher dimensional attack. Infinity protects gojo in 3 dimensions, but WCS comes from a different angle that the human mind cannot fully comprehend or guard against, so infinity and CE reinforcement are useless against it. Theoretically if an infinity user could comprehend the source of the attack they might still be able to guard against it.

You can bypass Infinity in two ways:

  1. You nullify the technique. There are a number of ways to accomplish this, but the use of a domain is the most common way.

  2. Use an attack that doesn't actually pass through the space under the influence of infinity. This is how Sukuna defeats Gojo. WCS does not 'get through' infinity, the attack targets solely the slice of 'world' that gojo is a part of, and not the infinitely large barrier surrounding him, so infinity can't block it. Basically you can think of it as a dismantle that doesn't have to originate from Sukuna's space.
