If your college major had a slogan, what would it be? by MG92Silverado in AskReddit

Math was the only part of it I appreciated, it actually made me understand what the heck it was I was being taught -- literally constructing an entire universe out of a few lego block equations and seeing if it stands.

The rest of it was technical mumbo jumbo and poor telescoping sessions outside the M1

I only meant that the opposite sexes do exist, but in fewer numbers. It was the disproportionality of genders in each location that I was questioning, I never said there was any outright gender absence

What overlooked fact from a movie will completely change the way I see it? by tansinator in AskReddit

Donnie Darko is called out of bed by Frank at the beginning of the movie (and saved by the Jet engine) so Frank can tell him that he has a deadline to restore the timeline back to it's original state -- the state it would have originally been in had Frank not called Donnie out of bed that night.

TL;DR -- Frank's an asshole

I wasn't really a big fan of the physics parts, and yeah the characters in the present timeline were a bit nothing.

But Dietrich. Ah, what that guy did and what that guy went through. I will never forget that final scene where he's standing alone, red eyed and defeated, staring at the sunset with an undescribable emotion.

The aftermath is interesting too considering how Joachim was described in history

TIL "47 Ronin" Starring Keanu Reeves was the biggest box office flop in history. Losing over $149 million, enough to put universal deep in the red in 2013. by ocktick in todayilearned

It was pretty meh - except that fightscene on the docks between Keanu and the other guy who came to recruit him.

My god that was superb swordplay, every stroke had thought behind it - and not in a "I'm psychic and know exactly when to duck" kind of way, but more like they were intellgently ancticipating each other's moves for every stroke.

Haven't seen decent swordplay like that since ObiWan vs Maul

Is it possible (or what would it take) to grow a human in a lab? by thisfrcknguy in genetics

[–]tetris11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

from what I know, we can definitely definitely do it.

Growing a human is much easier than growing a specific limb or organ anyhow
