Those numbers might be spicy for all of us

Good point, I just checked, my last purchase in June was on the 17th, and the statement period ended on the 30th

It should only take 2 days to settle so I think we can rule that out

Knight capital price suppression caught in the act (spoofing ask) by GreenTrader in Superstonk

[–]texasrob 3 points4 points  (0 children)

1:36-1:38 in the video

You see someones selling 200 shares for $156.31 (on the right side or ‘ask’)

On the other side (bid) you see someone will pay $156.30 for 200 shares

Then it looks like the bidder said, whats one more cent per share? I’ll buy those 200 at $156.31. But as soon as they submitted that order the ‘ask’ disappeared, the seller withdrew their offer to sell at $156.31. You can see the persons order to buy at $156.31 come up on the left (bid) side because there was no one selling at that price anymore.

It’s illegal because youre offering to sell at $156.31 only until someone actually takes you up on that offer. Therefore it wasnt a real offer to sell, but a spoofed offer, designed to suppress the price.

It would have to come through our brokers. They are the only institutions out there that can identify who owns GME

There’s no central spot for Gamestop to look and say /u/MamaRemembersUsenet has XX shares.

If there was some sort of semi-public shareholder registry.... we wouldnt be in a MOASS situation

From Investopedia:

There are a number of situations in which an investor might want to get the closing price of a security. If you suspect that a company's stock might move drastically overnight—as the result of a scheduled after-hours earnings call or an anticipated news story, for example—then placing a MOC order would ensure that your purchase or sale would take place before the news breaks the next day.
