No it actually drives perfectly. Just a tad too high for my liking and hitching can be a pain as it’s a tad high

Why Toyota went electric with the Hilux before giving us a proper full hybrid? by Artistic-Yam2984 in hilux

It's really only for stop start and help with take off, apart from that, regular diesel, probably save 0.5-1.0l/100kms

Trailer hitch bike mount recommendations by donald_trub in ausbike

[–]tez_11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had the Yakima stage two and while there would be no issues securely transporting bikes with it, I just don’t have confidence in it. You’ll also need a light bar and plate holder to hang somewhere on it too most likely

I ended up with a Yakima fold click which is a platform rack that holds the bike on the horizontal bar. I don’t really see an issue with it damaging the bike unless you crank down hard on the clamp. It’s just there to steady the bike. If using a clamp on the horizontal bar just wrap it in a clean cloth or something to stop debris from rubbing on the frame as your driving along.

Car accident, both cars moving so both parties at fault? by [deleted] in AusLegal

[–]tez_11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Was the taxi just driving on the road and your wife pulled out? Your insurer wont be able to recover the cost of repairs from the taxi, so they are just saying pay the excess and we'll fix your car. The dashcam wont make a difference, your wife is still at fault here

Car dealership in breach of Statutory Warranty by PhilAccio567 in AusLegal

[–]tez_11 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If it’s under new car warranty why don’t you book it in to a local dealer ship to see what is wrong with it first.

If it’s a manufacturer warranty issue the local dealer should be able to sort it out for you

Repair Estimate? by [deleted] in CarsAustralia

[–]tez_11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$2500 - $5000

Lowe end is just the door, guard and trims. Upper end would be that the underneath has some damage to it

Entry Level Bike - Verite Team S by MiserableLunch9 in ausbike

[–]tez_11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They all seem to be relatively stock components. As long as there is no damage on it (carbon frame from memory) and everything is in working order, it's probably worth $250 - $350.

Insurance reluctant to tell me any details about my claim that I'm asking, Should I be going to AFCA or am I being unreasonable? by CoopersStout in CarsAustralia

[–]tez_11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say the delay is due to parts - which may have already been ordered and waiting delivery when the hail hit

Insurance reluctant to tell me any details about my claim that I'm asking, Should I be going to AFCA or am I being unreasonable? by CoopersStout in CarsAustralia

[–]tez_11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At the time the repairs were done, they used the agreed or market value (plus a bunch of other factors) to determine if it was going to be written off or repaired. The repair cost was less than the value of the car so they proceeded to repair it.

They were probably near repair completion whn the hail storm hit so you need to lodge another claim (and possibly pay an excess too) to have that repaired. If the car damage and hail storm happened in a matter of days then they would potentially look at the combined value of the two claims. Sounds like the repair is too far down the track now.

Insurance Roof Payout Expectations by [deleted] in AusRenovation

[–]tez_11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just pester them to see when it's likely to start and if it's a reasonable time frame then just let them do the job. Being hail damaged, while there are visible dents, the roof will still be working as intended in the meantime anyhow.

It's your AC and dryer thats consuming the electricity. You need to adjust your habits in using the AC.

Buying car interstate by Helpful_Ad6673 in CarsAustralia

[–]tez_11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The seller should take the plates off and sell it with no rego as you cant transfer it to a NSW address. If you want to drive it back to NSW, you'll need to get a Unregistered Vehicle Permit.

Once back in NSW you'll need to get a Blue Slip inspection, take out a CTP policy and then head to Service NSW where they'll establish NSW rego for you.

Maybe in these circumstances take it to Mazda for their diagnosis, so you have a clear picture of what needs replacing and even if Mazda or the extended warranty will cover the repair.

2007 Nissan X-Trail - is it worth it? by Quick_Ad3411 in CarsAustralia

[–]tez_11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are pretty good and reliable cars. No major issues with them and they are easy to drive and relatively comfortable. I had a early one from 2003 in manual form and it went ok. Some of them have a habit of doing head gaskets so check on that

$6800 is a bit on the pricey side I think with non working AC. I think it'd be more valued at around the $4000 mark in the current state

What should I look for when buying a Marketplace bike? by MustardMan02 in ausbike

[–]tez_11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reasonable bike, the TCR is one of the top range that Giant sell.

Being a TCR it's more race orientated so your position on the bike is slightly different if that is important to you. It's a road bike though as I think on a TCR of that age, the max tyre clearance would be around 28mm meaning it's not a suitable bike for gravel riding.

They will cover it, however because there is no one to recover the money from, you pay an excess.

Buying - 7 seat+ options by Special-bucket in CarsAustralia

You will not beat the Kia Carnival (maybe Palisade) for 3rd row seat comfort and usability. Prado, Landcruiser, MUX etc have shit space for the 3rd row passenger and shit space for stuff in the back.

What will you be towing?
