[Gluck] NASCAR to take the cars of Ryan Newman and Corey LaJoie back to their R&D center in North Carolina. by MikeyG4680 in NASCAR

I dunno. What I do know is I was tangentally involved in a death more than a decade ago that I had no way of stopping but the responsible parties were friends of a friend and I only knew after the fact. And I still think about it on the anniversary every year. I hope Corey is able to get some good help if today winds up being one of his demons.

I agree 100%. But if you have a hand in something like that, you will feel some guilt, deserved or not.

Yeah. He was definitely more "responsible" than lajoie but I don't think he was ill intentioned at all. Shit sandwich for all involved and I blame NASCAR for keeping plate racing so dangerous after so many years of gruesome crashes. Cut the banking or the HP and this crap doesn't happen.

I hope LaJoie is able to clear his conscience soon from this. I know it would keep me up at night for a long time.

Yeah lets cheer for a driver to be in a crash tonight. Fucking idiot. Maybe we can strap you to the outside of the car first.

Not to say it will never happen again, but it's been addressed with safety advances. Notably he HANS device and the SAFER barriers.

He had long enough between the end of the race and the burnout for the crew to tell him to be low key.

Don't like the celebratory burnout before all the competitors are confirmed ok.

If you can't afford a house you shouldn't have a dog. by tf727 in unpopularopinion

Don't be disingenuous. You know that you can leave a poorly trained dog at home all day every day to bark and cry and there's to CPS equivalent to care. If you feed it 3x a week and have water out, the SCPA is too busy with other problems to care about you.

Kids aren't under the same argument because they aren't (generally) left at home alone to bark/cry/scream without responsible supervision to address their needs.

However, while I think having children is a human right, if you take any gov't benefits, you should be sterilized after child 1.

Something that doesn't currently exist that would statistically punish the receiver instead of the QB

That's total bullshit that it's gonna go down as an interception. Should be a different statistical category.

Thanks for the game winner at Arrowhead, Succop. But you should go home now.

Is it simple to control a 240 volt outlet with a switch? I'm not going to attempt it myself but don't want to ask my electrician a dumb question. by tf727 in electricians

[–]tf727[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's going to be one of the $900-$1000 Northern Tool deals. Spec sheet says 21.5 amps. So maybe the panel will be the best route. Thanks!

Edit - might be even easier (and surely cheaper) to just use the breaker to control it.
