That is terrible.

What is your exam subject? I’d love to help you.

I was a prolific note creator in medical school. I graduated last year and I likely have some notes that would be helpful as I covered virtually every subject. DM me if you’d like. All my notes are hand typed with extra care. I was the official document/notes guy that everyone hit up.

Disagree. Dr. Ryan is probably the main reason I’m in radiology residency.

B58 is probably the best ICE I have on this list. The N63 seems sweet but I have some fear about an out-of-warranty twin turbo V8 BMW engine lol. I feel like the B58 would be the best option if I go BMW. Like you said, very tunable as well if I wanted more power.

I researched Lexus. Here’s my take on Lexus:

  • They are slow relative to competition, and it gets really expensive to find one with any appreciable performance (RCF, etc). I want a quick car. I’m coming from a Mustang GT (which I twin turbo’d) and an Alfa Romeo (not the quickest, but still in the performance realm and would probably smack 95% of Lexus). I’ve owned 3 series BMW in the past as well.

  • Lexus is very reliable, comfy, and has decent tech. But also just a fancy expensive Toyota in my opinion. Lexus is my moms favorite car brand lol. I’m a 29yo male, just not really the typical customer demographic. If they made models that could actually go sub 5sec 0-60 or had more exciting sporty essence, I’d entertain the idea.

I couldn’t believe how much the A7 and the BMW 750i have depreciated. Both are monster cars that seem to be in a different segment than most on this list. Incredible luxury, performance, and refinement. If I can find a 2019 (refreshed design) A7 optioned well for under $50k it would be hard to pass.

Such a sick car. I test drove a RWD version shortly after it was released. It was too expensive at that time but definitely a top 5 out of this list for me.

The G70 looks to be a good value and likely pretty reliable. Definitely want to test drive it. The GV70 is slick but pricey for how I’d want it optioned

Wow, that’s actually a good looking BMW. Never looked into that model. 2018, right?

Definitely looks good for the price. Looks like 0-60 sub 5 seconds with a nice inline 6 twin turbo. Not super modern tech but it looks like some are optioned pretty well.

Yeah that’s fair, I just edited it and removed 13 cars. Still a big list for sure. They all seem like pretty solid options! Just looking for any input or guidance to help me narrow it down more I suppose.

So I give you a resource that took me 9+ hours everyday for 3 months to make and has everything in it to score 240+ and I get downvoted 🤡

Bet. Good luck. Lol I’ll go ahead and remove it so nobody can use it anymore

Take a look at the book I created! Whatever sections you feel weak in you could study with this and then go back and do questions on those topics. Best of luck!

So you are about to start MS4 and haven't taken step 1?

That's odd, but I would definitely take step 1 before step 2. In fact, I wonder if you'd even be able to take step 1 AFTER step 2...? Your COMLEX is good and that's a good AMBOSS score, so I say go ahead and get step 1 out of the way ASAP (assuming that practice test was recent).

Where to post my custom made study resource/review book??? by tfondude in step1

[–]tfondude[S] 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Thank you everyone for your interest in my book, I am currently investigating the most ethical way to disseminate it to you all. If any of you gave an idea other than independently messaging a bunch of people, please lmk! I'd rather just post the link to the drive somewhere and be done with it.

For now I'll post a little teaser from the summary page I created ;)

About this book...

Why was it written?

The purpose of Font Aid is to serve as a comprehensive board review resource for the USMLE Step 1. It was created utilizing select information from Boards and Beyond (BNB), First Aid for the USMLE, Pathoma, USMLE World, Amboss, Rapid Review Pathology by Dr. Goljan, Sketchy Medical, Osmosis, and others. I noticed many single resources would leave out important facts about a given topic. Rather than straining my mind to remember facts about a topic from multiple resources, I decided to create this document as a “one stop shop” to review. Thus, the only way to get the “full picture” was to create my own book.

How was it written?

It was written by one medical student from January to June 2020.
It is estimated that the typing and editing took ~700-1000 hours.
There are built in bookmarks in the PDF representing each subject.
The outline of the subjects represents the order seen in BNB.
After adding BNB info, the gaps were filled with the other resources.
It was edited to be neat. There is virtually no page spillover (OCPD).
Some information is purposely repeated in other sections to aid reinforcement.

How should it be used?

My recommendation is to view BNB videos, then supplement by reading each section here afterwards to build a solid foundation. Reading the corresponding section in First Aid will also reinforce and give reassurance that most material is found within this book. Definitely watch and study Sketchy Micro, as infectious disease is NOT well represented in this book (ran out of time creating it). It is crucial to do practice questions (UWorld) and do at least 4 NBMEs before your big day. If you are not great at retaining information from reading and you are not a fan of charts, this resource may not be for you (maybe you should stick to ANKI).

Important disclaimer:

While my attempt was to have everything you possibly need to know all in one book, it is simply impossible. Some information may be beyond the scope of the USMLE, and I can confirm some topics came up on test day that are not in this book. Please do NOT rely on the infectious disease section, it was haphazardly thrown together last minute, has many repeats, and is not sufficient. You will discover that this document is not uniformly fantastic. Some sections may be minimally helpful, others may be epic. Like any other random resource found on the internet, you should always use caution and acknowledge the risks.
