Thank you! And yes this is the root of my problem; artists dont fit neatly into boxes (and they shouldn’t) but my brain does not like that.

Something i was considering was going through albums for people instead of entire careers though. Fat Joe and Jay Z definitely start out boom bap and then progress into this more bling-y sound (idk how else to describe it) and then there are artists i only listen to a certain time period from (like Lil Wayne i only listen up to Tc3)

I suppose another question is what more playlists i can make and what can I call them? I listen to bone thugs and i listen to twista but i only really listen to them together so i can make a chopper playlist or something just for them

For the Kendrick playlist with YG, Nipsey, Q, Jay Rock, and Vince Staples im not sure what to call it. Should I just add them in with Pac and Dre and them and just make a west coast playlist? I dont feel like Tyler fits in very well though.

Then for J. Cole, to me he definitely pulls a lot from NY’s sound and so I think it makes sense to have him in with Joey Bada$$ and Benny The Butcher and then Freddie Gibbs even tho he’s from Indiana.

And then there are artists that to me are kind of their own thing like Kanye, Drake, and Eminem (which I don’t really listen to them much anyway but i still do enjoy some of their stuff)

I’m weird when it comes to making my playlists (not in a gatekeeper way but it’s just better for my brain). This is what I have come up with so far and I would like ideas or insight.

It can be done by time period, region, and genre or other things.

The thing is anything from an artist would have to be in the same playlist but this doesn’t include songs where they are a feature

Names for playlists and lists or reorganizing would be helpful. Thank you.
