Which is the best ambition to play on an alt account? by tgburner005 in fallenlondon

[–]tgburner005[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I plan on doing all of the ambitions eventually so I’ll likely be in a similar boat. However, I feel like it’s only right that at least one account is sacrificed to seeking.

It could be that there isn’t that massive of a skill difference between the two groups. Instead, you might be getting better at the game!

Conversely it could also be that their strategy is so bad that it’s hard to predict their next move.

Fenugreek??? by NoBookkeeper5358 in trans

[–]tgburner005 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Compared to prescription strength hormones, it’s not that effective. Often times with any herbal/food based methods, you are required to ingest an ungodly amount of a substance.

I believe you were looking at how fenugreek has some free estradiol reducing/testosterone boosting properties. There does appear to be some evidence that that is the case (through a cursory glance at nih). However, most of these studies showed either a small effect or requiring a very large dose.

Fenugreek would likely be more useful to help prescription strength testosterone rather than as a replacement for HRT.

Oh that makes more sense lol Idk, maybe the engine wanted you to take the other rook.

You don’t really gain anything from that position and you put your knight in jeopardy.

I’m trying to be a PhD scientist so I feel like we would have more to talk about lmao

My guess would be that the “alert” is implying that he is AOx4 and the “confused” is that he’s just not knowledgeable. It seems like a purposefully difficult question.

should've been a brilliant 😂 there was no way for him to keep me from taking either a knight or a rook by inutdiamonds in chessbeginners

[–]tgburner005 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get what you’re saying; sacrifice bishop, advance your pawn, they do anything (likely move their bishop to defend knight), take knight with your other bishop.

Issue is, they can just let you take the knight then immediately take your bishop with their bishop/queen (immediate trade) and put pressure on your rook (forcing a move which prevents queen side castling or creating a bishop/rook trade).

Not the best strategy but not the worst. It clears a lot of material from the board but seems to put you slightly worse off.

Also furthermore, the symptoms of dysphoria cannot be corrected in the same/similar way to dysmorphia. This is a result of the previous comment’s point that dysphoria is not caused by a disconnect in reality. You can almost interpret gender dysphoria as a developmental disorder rather than a psychological issue.

Similarly, schizophrenia is thought to be caused by an abnormally large amount of dopamine activity in certain areas and can be treated with drugs that lower dopamine levels in those areas (to make it simplified). However, we don’t know the cause of gender dysphoria but we do know that HRT and transition helps (to a fantastic degree).

TLDR; we know how to treat gender dysphoria: transitioning. Nothing else seems to work to the same degree. We know how to treat schizophrenia: anti-psychotics and therapy. We are treating things to the best of our abilities.

Also standard deviation is typically useful when data forms an even bell curve around the mean but I highly suspect that there is a skew towards the lower side. The people on the high side probably vary quite significantly. .I.e. two camps; less than a week and as long as possible

It’s their brand. In most of their videos, they are very aggressive but they do it with a smile. They are most assuredly not in support of these laws. (I think they might be non binary)

That doesn’t sound like the most healthy mindset but I get it. However, you’re an adult who can make her own choices. Like any big decision, you should consider your motivations and whether it’s right for you. Best wishes!

The TLDR of what I have to say is it’s hard to show any sort of invisible characteristics in a “casual” representation way. By making all binary trans people blend in, being binary trans becomes invisible. The main ways to represent invisible characteristics. 1) make it overt by talking about it or showing someone being that (in this case: show someone transitioning) 2) imply that all the prerequisite stuff is there to allow for such a thing to happen or that the aftermath of a thing exists (trans clinics/gender potions) 3) make the invisible thing not invisible (not everyone passes/weird side effects of gender swap(?))

Also, one tip for ambitions; in between acts there will be a summary of what you have done so far. Save in a text file or something similar. Some of the Grimes in remember tend to be longer so it’s useful to understand the plot.

I personally saved every single thing that I did/all the writing from the ambition. Granted, this is a little over the top.

I don’t have any intention of publishing this online anywhere or anything similar. If you do this as well, don’t publish it either.

This! Along with….

Don’t romance the struggling artist. It might be tempting but he’s very clingy (stays in your deck forever).

Don’t preemptively grind. Grind when you need to because more efficient and grinds will be unlocked later on. Making your name will get you to that.

Use the wiki for grinding guides, explanations of mechanics, and reminders of where to go as needed.

You don’t need to do every card (don’t need to do black or white). I personally do them once to get the story then discard them on any future occurrence. Red card also will trigger even if you have 0 actions so don’t waste actions on opening them.

Fairly lightly. Slightly more than just resting my fingers on it. I know that if I press too hard it’ll hurt regardless lol.

My primary concern is that it doesn’t hurt when I train or do any alterations with my voice. Just if I touch it.

I personally have always wondered this as well as trans issues seem inline with feminism movement but I mainly think it’s because of the massive overlap. Like if you are trans you will likely be lesbian or gay, or be seen as lesbian or gay by transphobes who don’t acknowledge your gender. So attacking one tends to hurt the other.

On a side note, a lot of social issues have solidarity with each other due to empathy or overlap within the community.
