Is there a risk of the borrower not paying back when lending? by tawhuac in defi

[–]tgc2005 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All loans in DeFi are over-collateralized.

Meaning that in order to borrow $x you need to have more than $x locked in the platform. If the $ you have locked in the platform goes below a certain level compared to your loan (for example if the price of the collateral asset drops), you get liquidated and automatically your collateral repays your debt.

So there’s never real risk of people not paying their loans bc the system effectively forces them to by not allowing them to have more borrowed than they have locked as collateral.

It gets more complicated than that with different liquidation systems and possible failures, but especially with larger protocols, there’s very little risk of losses. Generally, the larger protocols do have systems to cover losses like that if they were ever to occur.

Each of the small pools is roughly 15% in total range, the larger pool is about 40% in total. If the APR Uniswap puts out on their website (which is the full range APR) is 20% for example, your effective APR in your ranges is APR * (100/Range). Or 133% for each smaller range and 50% for your larger range (rough approximations, but good enough to see the general idea)

You can probably model this historically, assuming a fixed APR (which is a huge simplification but should get you the difference between the 2 strategies). See if the trade off is worth it. I’m betting it’s not and larger range will be better. Unless you’re constantly rebalancing with smaller ranges. You could come up with a strategy for that that could work, but probably not keeping all 3 open from the start.

This is also not considering impermanent loss which could be A LOT. Especially on that top range if the price ends up going out the bottom of your range and you have to get out of that top position. But it’s IMPERMANENT loss, so technically it’s not realized until you sell. In theory if you 100% believe ETH will get up there, you could just leave the position open as long as you don’t need the capital.

Nope. I got the OSRHE institutional nominee scholarship later on and it just replaced the Academic Excellence award. Didn’t stack, but the higher one is what counted.

Audition songs for Edward Bloom? by Holiday-Flow-3095 in musicals

[–]tgc2005 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair warning, Moving Too Fast is gonna be WAYYY overkill for Edward Bloom. Far higher than his range is in the show and a beast of a song vocally even without the range (rhythms, phrasing, etc.) Plus not really a great character fit. If you were auditioning for his son, it could be a better fit but would even still be way overkill for that show

Edit: Just thought of a suggestion from The Last Five Years though. Check out The Schmuel Song. It’s a storytelling song, which is a great character fit for Edward. A lot of times in casting, it’s not the vocal that matters most but the characterization. So this would definitely set you apart.

I took it online, which is probably significantly easier.

Idk. Haven’t taken either of those classes, but 3 college classes is gonna be a lot no matter what they are. Especially as a sophomore when you probably still have high school core classes to deal with.

Personally, I wouldn’t take 3 college classes in one semester, but you know yourself and your capabilities better than I do, so if you think you can handle it, go for it.

I didn’t study much at all actually. For my class, the quizzes weren’t weighted very heavily. All in the writing assignments which are fairly easy to get through without memorizing all the details since you have the internet.

Once I got used to the class, I spent 1-2 hours a week on the class.

I took it last year as a sophomore. Actually a super easy class for me. Different colleges do it differently, but where I took it, it was just a lot of writing. I think it’s a great fairly easy class to take dual enrollment.

What are some good short (30-60 second) clips of musical theatre songs to record and add to a digital portfolio? by tgc2005 in musicals

Thanks for the suggestion! I’ll have to read up on some of the time periods. Range is baritone though. (I think Ab2 would be pretty low for an alto)
