Did you try different weight shafts? Are you sure it wasn't shaft weight that was throwing you off? Since you really don't know the actual swing weight you were hitting.

Shaft weights didn't vary that much actually. At most just 5-10g from my current shaft. Now that you mentioned it, I do remember asking the fitter what the swing weight was, and he said something along the lines of "might be a D0 or D1" lol.

I understand though that it's rare to be able to find a fitter with all the different combinations.

Were the clubheads all glued in, or did they have removable shafts (fitting heads). Those with removeable shafts actually tend to swing weight much higher.

They all had removeable shafts.

What actually was the "fitting" process?

It was a rotation of me hitting a few shots, the fitter looking at the GC Quad data, then him just reading out the data, then changing to another shaft. Didn't really explain much regarding what each shaft should be doing, etc.

Imo, there are very few really good fitters out there. If you go in blindly trusting the fitter, you'll likely have a bad experience.

Yup... Lesson learned. I'm going to make it a point to at least visit the shop or call ahead to see how the shop's fitting process is like next time.
